Television The Witcher | Netflix | There are book spoilers here

Its an expensive replacement tbf, so maybe some hope for it even if they divert from the books.

Well this just went to shit. Cavill was easily the best thing about the show and it surprised me that he’d tie himself down to a multi season TV series. So it was good while it lasted.

I was just telling a friend the other day the only thing stopping me from cancelling my Netflix subscription was the desire to keep watching The Witcher.

Now Cavill's gone, and seeing how he was pretty much the only one involved in the show who seems to give a damn about doing the IP justice, I've given up on this. Netflix subscription cancelled and I might river the third season.

Least we get 1 more season to watch and then watch Netflix burn the money. A good recast would soften the blow. But Liam fecking Helmsworth?

I will enjoy season three, I will give season four a chance, but Cavill nailed that role. I hope we find out why he let the role go?

Henry once stated, that he will walk out the project if they butcher the materials, and giving how they completely done so, and how they say recently they hate the books and the games. This is the best thing that ever happened. And Henry shouldn't even act in this.

I was OK with that given the circumstances. It almost felt bad to complain about it.

This seems more like the lead actor just lost interest in the show.

Oh yeah, i totally get why it had to be done for Spartacus. But lead change when its the main protagonist (or the show is actually named after the lead) is sometimes difficult to get used to. I thought liam mcintyre did a fantastic job in the end. Maybe his namesake will also do it. But this one defo different given the passion Cavill had for this and for him to leave is not a good sign.

I’m buzzing for it. Loved the first two seasons enough to rewatch them. My only concern is Cavill leaving, but that’s an issue for season 4! Bring it on!

Yeah I am expecting it to be bad but Cavil's last season I will be cautiously optimistic he gets a decent send off. Then I expect the new actor swap will go poorly and be the final season.

Dreading it, show runner is an absolute clown just telling a story they want to tell and just ignoring the actual books.

Expecting it to be terrible but hoping I enjoy it anyway as a guilty pleasure. Not confident of even getting that much from it.

Yeah same. Will watch since it’s the goddamn Witcher but not expecting much. That blood origins show pretty much was the final nail for me.

Hoping to be pleasantly surprised! No need to even stick to the books man but with the amount of material there with the books and the games, you’d think they’d try to learn from it.

Will be the final season I watch. Shame as I like the show, I know a lot of Witcher fans get all pissy, but I don't overly mind it and enjoy the show for what it is. Having said that, Cavill's my bro, so if he's out, i'm out.

I think everyone universally agrees it’s the last season. Cavil IS Geralt. And his replacement is Liam fecking Helmsworth Seriously? If it was someone more reputable rather then a pretty boy Liam, I’d give it a shot but no way in hell I’m watching Witcher after season 3.

After the clusterfeck that was the prequal, I'm not very hopeful that this will be any good but I'll watch season 3. Unless they really wow me with where they are taking the story, I'll drop it after that.

Seems pointless. With Cavill leaving I know I won’t watch S4 so why watch season 3? Still might but I dunno at this point.

This. Leaving both the Witcher and not playing Superman again - gutted for both :(

Cavill fits the role so well that I feel I can treat this as the final season. I've also really enjoyed it, so I hope they make his final season decent enough to watch.

I am just watching in the hopes of seeing Cavill and Anya Chalotra having wild sex on a unicorn.

One of the reasons Cavill left the show was actually him feeling uncomfortable with such scenes and he refused them, because they didn't help the story.

Hopefully he’s the next bond
Him or Idris Elba for me. Idris might be a couple of years too old at this point though. Henry showed he can do it with his part in the man from UNCLE. Only problem may be is that if he s truly apprehensive about filming intimate scenes with female costars. Which honestly nowadays probably shouldn't be too much of an issue, let alone a focus. I think we've long gotten past Bond womanizing left and right.

At least we know infamous cheater Liam Hemsworth probably won't have an issue with that.

Cavill was of all the people involved with the show the only one who actually cared about the story, so yeah they probably picked someone who follows Hissrich's "ideas" without a second thought.

Yeah, hope he gets another big role of sorts. Bond would be great but possibly big shoes to fill after Craig (I liked him even though, admittedly, i was initially against the casting!).
Isn't he doing Warhammer? Which I reckon will have his input

I think its skillful to have such good material to make a show of. Then crap out this thing.

Its really really weak.

Everything from the Nilfgardien ballsack armour to the awfully dull sorcreseses.
