@Joga Bonito you around still? Have a question for you
Ivanov's position is a little off. He was an inside-right, who dropped deep in midfield, which is closer to a supporting striker/central attacking midfielder role, not a winger, he should be occupying one of Suarez/Giresse positions. Or, at least, a central forward, like he played with Streltsov in Torpedo (in 4-2-4), but I don't think that he played there in Euro's.

Overall it's a very interesting team - one of the most interesting in the draft for me, but with too many cooks in the kitchen I'm not sure that it will work - Suarez, Hidegkuti and Ivanov (and, to a lesser extent, Giresse) were all doing very similar job, albeit in a different times with different tactics. Maybe after your explanation in the match thread I will change my mind though, who knows.
Your team, your choice! The modern roles and positions are very different from the ones from the past, it is bound to create some arguing points over this draft, it's always interesting. I'm looking forward to your game. From what i found, Ivanov played this position in 60' when he was a golden boot. Didnt watch the whole games but the little footage i found it looked like he played there. Four years later when they lost from Spain in the final it looks like he played that central role where they did say he was more of a playmaker then the striker. I picked him based mostly on his first Euro....
The other thing we will debate in match thread, dont want to spam the thread

Yep, it's insane he hasn't gone yet. There's another Italian who should have been picked by now, based on his performance at the Euros.
Smashed last night lads.
I'm going with Thomas Brolin.
I saw that it was your birthday Didn't want to rush you since I assumed you were out getting blathered Happy belated.
Nice pick. @Annahnomoss will be a fan!
I didnt commented Giresse game(which was good but nothing special) i only said his passing was fantastic on the day......
Tigana played a great game and have to say it was a positive surprise to see Platini as he has a reputation of an lazy classic number 10 but his workrate in that game was pretty good.
Ta buddy, 8 AM start today is NOT the place to be though.
Who can i leave my picks with?
Well in. I was wondering if any of us would have the balls to pick him in light of his reputation as a bloated waster in the latter part of his career, despite his sometimes brilliant performances in UEFA 92.Smashed last night lads.

Names, names, names!!!!! What the feck is wrong with you, you're doing it all the time . Leave the names out of your posts ffs, you don't need them to make a point.Re watched Sweden in that Euro some days ago and Brolin was immense for us, our second best team in history(92-94). He was the shared top scorer of the tournament and we scored easily against any team that we played against which included winners Denmark, France and England which group we topped. Even against that Germany side with near-all legends like Sammer, Effenberg - Kohler - Brehme - ????- ????????- and our two maybe best players(with Brolin and Z) suffering from injury(While playing) and the other one being suspended.
We still managed to score two goals. No defense can keep Brolin from creating chances at that form, not even that Germany side. He was a terrier, happy to challenge any player in to physical challenges and that Swedish side worked extremely hard as a unit lead by X and Y(both deserve a pick).
Comfortable finding space out wide, behind the defense, making ghost runs to open up space for Dahlin(he won't be picked.)
For a pure Euro performance draft Brolin is a great pick, shared top scorer, while primarily being a playmaker and proven against all top teams(Winners Denmark, England, France, Germany).
Stop crying like a big Swedish baby and adhere to the rules instead . But yes, the rules sometimes are a bit silly, nevertheless they're important. You guys are crazy about those rules. The latter. I'm not some ex-pro pundit who uses superlatives like they're going out of fashion. He scored two winners in the group of death against England and Denmark. He really had a top performance overall rather than sometimes being brilliant. Unless you mean that those sometimes he was really brilliant like the goal against England which wasn't just the winning goal it was a piece of art.

Names!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!His chest pass against Germany was pretty damn brilliant too, deserved a better fate than leading to nothing. Typical Brolin really, he wasn't a player who had to dwell on the ball. He really excelled in one touch playmaking as well, very much like another big baby he was capable of those odd backheel/chest pass stunts.
His development as a player was quite funny. He started off being a really hard working striker, which then turned in to being a bit of a luxury midfielder and then he revamped himself to be a great hard working midfielder and a team player.
In terms of this draft I think that quite a lot of players from that team had magnificent performances. Brolin was a big name but there are four players who was as good as him and one being injured and the other suspended was probably the reason we went out.
Germany won with 3-2 but it was a flattering score for the Swedish team and Germany were quite comfortable even if we had our chances.

I didn't want to rush you (or anyone else). It's fine if MJJ has your pick. Just thought I remind everyone about the rules before we end up with a bit late drama because of a misunderstanding regarding some players and how they count or something like that .No problem Balu
my next pick is with MJJ but ill mail you aswell Balu to be safe aswell to be safe
