Let chaos reign..

Will we see some of his promises come to fruition:

Economically crippling 19th century tariffs
RFK in charge of healthcare, removing flouride from the water
A day of violence to stop all crime
Mass deportations
Ending the war in Ukraine (by giving Russia large chunks of Ukraine)
What happens in Gaza and Lebanon?
What will Musk run?

It's going to be a mad and dangerous 4 years

I think it'll be proper box office. He doesn't have to worry about re-election, he's an egotist, he's going to want to leave his mark.

It's going to be MAGA Pro MAX.

Oh boy, the press conferences. Guess we'll be entertained at least..

Feels like one of those American adverts for drugs like Ozempic

Ask your doctor if MAGA PRO MAX Is right for you.""If you have seasonal allergies,. Side effects of Maga Pro Max are uncommon, and include headache, nausea, vomiting, death, dizziness, ejaculation, dysentery, cardiac arrhythmia, mild heart explosions, varicose veins, darkened stool, darkened soul, lycanthropy, trucanthropy, more vomiting, arteriosclerosis, hemorrhoids, diabeetus, a sudden rise in drinking Fanta Orange, virginity, mild discomfort, vampirism, gender impermanence, spontaneous dental hydroplosion, Trans hate, sugar high, even more vomiting, total scrotal implosion, hating those brown people doing your yard, your mom, and mild rash."

I’m feeling like I kinda need to checkout of politics for a long while as it’s not going to be good for my blood pressure and mental health but I really do worry that sort of sentiment and apathy from the left across the globe is what’s going to result in these right wing governments going unchecked.

Elon will be in charge of AI and social media. In 4 years time he will be President. In 8 years he will be controlling all worlds media and no more truth will exist.

Tarrifs - Hard to say what will happen. He's had a 40 year hard on for China, so he will almost certainly try something there. Not sure about Mexico and elsewhere.

RFK - I can see Trump giving him some sort of health portfolio, then sacking him within months after he attempts to implement something bizarre that results in political blowback for Trump.

A day of violence - can't see that being a viable thing.

Mass Deportations - He will probably try to deport illegals. There's no way around it.

Russia/Ukraine - Zelinskyy is already buttering him up, so that may slow down his train of thought of ending the war a bit. Also, most of the frozen Russian funds are controlled by Europe, which could be used to continue the war indefinitely outside of Trump's purview.

Gaza/Lebanon - Netanyahu will have even more power to do whatever he wants. I expect calls to annex Gaza to magically gain momentum alongside much more settler expansion in the WB.

Musk will probably get some honorary role, but his biggest reward will be Trump expanding the government contract money for SpaceX. Tesla will probably also benefit in someway, probably by way of getting government money expand the Supercharger network as the national EV standard.

2 of his biggest election mandates was to take action on immigration and stop sending money to Ukraine, so I think we will see concrete actions on those issues. Gaza will be more of the same I feel. The rest are up in the air.

Fortunately he cannot become President, though of course he could pull the strings behind the scenes just as efectively

they can't seriously put RFK in charge of healthcare can they? feck my life that would be a disaster

the guy who thinks vaccines cause autism, covid was engineered to target certain demographics and chemicals in the water are turning kids trans

I work in tax. One of his proposals recently was to get rid of the tax filing requirement for US citizens abroad. If he did that, I’d be out of a job quickly so hopefully it doesn’t happen!

Hell over see a review into government spending. Not really running anything just reviewing areas where savings can be made, from what I’ve heard.

feels so weird that the likely candidate for 28 is Vance

I'd rather Tulsi switched sides and ran, but I guess that's an extremely unlikely event? Honestly no idea. Whilst I wouldn't be surprised if she switched to the GOP, I don't expect them to move on from the MAGA bandwagon for the next cycle

edit: just googled it and she's already switched!

I wonder if he will fall out with Musk like he fell out with Bannon although it didn't stop Bannon continue to support him.
It's not like Bannon had a choice considering the other side thinks he's the antichrist.

Trump and most of the people around him also believe these things.

It can only be a matter of time, they're two of the biggest egos on the planet.

Why on Earth would Republicans ever run Tulsi fecking Gabbard for president?

That's the wildest idea I've heard so far today.

1. if the no-tax-on-tips thing becomes real, is there a way for everyone to be paid in tips?

2. do non-citizens have 2nd amendment rights?

Can someone explain why Musk is so involved in this? What's he gaining?

Mainly friendlier policy to his businesses.

For instance, SpaceX relies almost exclusively on government funds, which Trump could increase as a quid pro quo in exchange for Musk's support. Similar situation with Tesla.

The second bit is cultural. Musk thinks Trump will slow down the "Woke Mind Virus".

Is it completely implausible that he moves to pave the way for a third term by looking to remove the amendment preventing it?

I ask because I saw someone on twitter point out that this was something Bill Clinton has repeatedly suggested in the past, on the basis that people's lives and political careers were longer and it was now more plausible for people to serve non-consecutive terms. And it would seem entirely in line with Trump's approach to politics to make such an attempt, while arguing that as his first and second terms were non-consecutive he would be entitled to run for a third.

Legally it's not going to happen. The US is way too divided and polarised for it to pass a constitutional amendment in favour of Donald Trump's third term.

He can, of course, try to simply ignore the law. Or as others pointed out, the easiest way is to get some MAGA pawn elected with Trump's endorsement.
