I'd say it depends. They've been doing monthly update blogs which is a huge improvement on the previous 9 years, but the "smart AI" transfers were such a shitshow and still haven't been truly fixed. Ability to use five subs is fantastic, extra tactic options I suppose are good but I've not even touched them.

My guess is yeah. It's just so infuriating how they're just chopping away at it like that in an attempt to force people to go Gold when it is more likely to get people to quit, leagues to close and they'll then be missing out on the money from the ones who paid just because they're not giving the free managers a bone.

Yes, but I think they have their priorities wrong. I do not believe they are tracking retention properly, or time taken since registering (free member) to pay (gold member - sounds like something from Austin Powers). If they are tracking the former I sincerely doubt they are looking at it like for like and the bleed is being masked with the mass signups last year. This means full retention will kick them hard in a few months time. So to focus on cheats is so short sighted, creating a self run community (much like Damien (and others here) have done will foster success, call out cheats and be welcoming to any newbie that comes along wanting to know more. The old forum was awesome at this.
