Norwich Cathedral in the background if you’re wondering

That is your best 'work' so far. Even the text is legible.

Anyone else hoping for Bury v Blackburn and Cardiff v Norwich cup ties this season?
I’d love it.

It took far too long to get the ai to spell “Wouter Goes” so I gave up and went with W.Goes.

Hi <@&922305636270759966>,

**We're pushing some of the new tactical options live!**

Our next step on our roadmap has been to **introduce expanded tactical options** to add another layer of immersion to the game. A key aim of this, however, was to make sure we do **not stray too far away from the simplicity** that makes Worlds as accessible as it is. With that in mind, we've introduced the following:

* Added the following new tactical options:
* Width
* Fluidity
* Creativity
* Forwards Style
* Wide Play Style
* Backline
* Sweeper Keeper
* Replaced the "Play Offside" option with the "Backline" option.
* Match reports now display all tactical info, including the new options.
* Improved & Fixed Stored Tactics.
* Now works across XGW and in Internationals.
* Correctly saves all tactics options.
* Fixed bugs with tactics on XGW & Internationals.
* Fixed an issue with five substitutes causing match playback to break on the 2D pitch & commentary mode.

These tactical options are **still at an early stage** and we are going to be continuing to work on them for the next few weeks. To begin with, **we have toned down the impact that these options have** in the match engine as we monitor how they perform in conjunction with one another. With further testing, we will be continuing to tweak the impact of these options so **you may notice some slight changes in behaviour over the coming weeks**.

We'd like to thank everyone for their feedback so far on our changes & we hope you enjoy the updated tactical system!

Cheers all,
Dylan

Yeah, you or Everton have the league won. Whenever they mix up the tactics it takes me 3 seasons minimum to adjust

there any more to that?
Straight cash.
Damn, nice pick up. Didn't know he was available for cash
Nor did I to be fair. I just saw soon after I’d lost the Laporte bid that Todibo was being sold to external for ~£16m so figured I’d PM and ask nicely.

I know Todibo might drop in the summer as he’s not played much due to injury but he’s a decent age to rotate in the squad between now and then and gives time for Quaresma to grow in ratings.

Who knew that Benito was Adam Ant?

Seriously though, this one isn't so bad. Percy might have been able to get a couple of mill more if he made it public he was selling Todibo but no biggy.

Made me chuckle.

He wanted cash, and I’d assume quickly. I happened to be online to see he was going external so I think the speed of funds was the more important aspect here.

Anyone struggling financially and signing higher rated players for the short term bear in mind that player wages don't go down when they drop in rating. Oblak (93) is still on wages of a 95 rated player, and Sancho (90) is still on wages of a 92 rated player. Not really an issue for me as I'm fine but something to think about.

Have a good time?
Sort of, players were frustrating, good to cheer for 3 goals.

9 pints of Guinness and a bottle of Red wine from 2pm.

Woke up the next morning in the hotel feeling like death. Thank god I booked my 3 hour train journey back down south in the afternoon. So i went to the cinema to have a sleep during Captain America :lol:

Aston Villa - 2025 Rebuild

Thanks to @BenitoSTARR squad reviews, I ended up looking beyond my starting 14/15 after years only to find the squad filled with "talents" I had signed when I took over who had not made it to put it mildly. Some of these players hadn't even played 5 senior games in 5yrs, such was the dross in my squad.

Players sold -

Man Utd Sanchez, Dallinga, Bojang, Metu, Rijkhoff, Luzzi, Patrick, Emil Hojlund, Charlie McNeill, Redondo, Albiol

Okafor - Transfer bid awaited. Just hasn't been able to take the next step up so has to go.

Don't worry if you haven't even heard of some of these names, that's how shit they've been. Redondo was the only tough call as he's clearly very talented but couldn't excuse the Inter Miami move any longer so he had to go too.

Players bought -

Reviewing my squad, the obvious areas to fix were to get 89+ backup at CM and CB and then to get long term talents at CM, CB and LB especially.

Cristante - Gives me a 90 rated backup at both CM and CB and because of his flexibility, saves a squad space.

Pau Navarro, Callum Doyle, Egan Riley - 3 talents bought for the CB position. Navarro is one of the better talents to have come through the Villareal academy and already featuring for the first team aged 19. Doyle is a City product playing every game out on loan in the championship and doing well. Egan Riley I've bought back actually. Had given up on him last year after his career seemed to be going south but he's surprised everyone by the season he's having at Burnley.

Gustavo Sa, Ege Tiknaz, Yaya Fofana, Kevin Danois, Youri Regeer - 5 talents bought to bolster the pipeline at CM. 4 of them playing in Ligue 1 while Regeer has just moved back to Ajax. All of them a good age and pretty much regular starters. Fofana has had an injury unfortunately but took the punt anyway due to the talent.

Lukas Ullrich - Talented LB starting for Gladbach in Bundesliga. LB needs further strengthening probably but will see later depending on how certain other things go.

Divine Mukasa, Reigan Heskey - New additions to the DB who I just had to participate in the bidding wars for. 5 big additions in the last few days, got 2 of them so can't complain. Both will be long term projects but excited for Mukasa especially.

Main squad now -

Attack - Kane, Foden, Wirtz, Son, Yamal, Rashford, Greenwood

Strong set of attackers and a great age mix too. Yamal is going to make Son redundant for my starting 11 the next review so I'd put him on the market. Bit surprised at the lack of interest for a 93 rated striker / winger but our league basically treats anyone 30+ as dead so not that shocking I guess.

Easily the strength of the team. I somehow always end up with great attacks backed by avg midfields and def. Was a feature of my Arsenal stint as well. Need to fix this and build more balanced team but anyway.

Midfield - Gavi, Parejo, Garcia, Cristante

Needs work to say the least but Gavi gives me a core to build around. Garcia I really rate, hopefully he gets over the adjustment phase at Leverkusen soon. Played well yesterday and scored too so fingers crossed. Cristante will be a solid backup for a while giving the kids time to come through.

CB - Torres, Maguire, Cristante, Branthwaite

Torres has pretty much peaked at 91 unless he gets a big move / Villa win something. But he'll be a steady starter. Branthwaite obviously the big talent there and should be a long term starter for me. Maguire and Cristante basically 90 fillers till someone from the youth setup makes it. Sutalo I like, hopefully a good transfer for him in the near future.

FBs - Chilwell, AWB, Semedo, Livramento

Needs a lot of work. 3 avg feckers though AWB is doing well at WHU + Livra who thankfully will nail down the RB slot by the looks of it.

Pipeline -

Paixao, Conceicao, Garner, Rensch, Sutalo, Vitik, Summerville, Verschaeren, Engels, Konate, Mejbri, Gelhardt, Bitshiabu, Anselmino, Di Lollo, William Gomes

Lots of talent there. Some obviously lot closer to making it or being obvious talents than the rest. Conceicao, Sutalo, Summerville, Garner, Bitshiabu and Anselmino probably the ones most likely to make it. Harsh on coceicao to be on this list tbf but should move to the main squad next review.

Been fun doing a rebuild, like my squad a lot more now and it's building to something hopefully.

Lovely write up and I enjoyed seeing your reflections on your new squad additions and rationale behind selling others too.

I’ll PM you about Son, didn’t realise he was available.

Also glad to have encouraged you and others to change their squads. Happy to do these write ups again next season as I think it’s helped make the GW a little more active in deals.

Thanks mate and absolutely, doing it regularly is a lot of work but it'd be great.

I doubt many even knew that Son was available. I certainly didn't, but only have money to offer. I know the feeling about signing too many youngsters who haven't done anything for years – it is especially rough when you have a smaller squad cap like me. To help with your overhaul I recommend putting together a chart of player's primary positions in real life so you know your weaker areas and are not caught unaware if a random position change happens that removes a player's ability to play in certain positions.
