Gaming The SM RedCafe League

With Varun and Trionz accepting bids for their players, I shat myself and bit an extra 7 mill on Falcao.....feckers

Well done RS on signing Cavani.

Dirty Arsenal injured 3 of my players.

Karma :D

Been a bad couple of days for me.
  • Bid for Cavani, then you and Ben ninja-bidded right in the final hours when I wasn't on (sometime between midnight and 9amish). When I came on, bids were accepted (my original bid was around 9.30 the day before) and knew you would have got him.
  • In the league game (which I didn't really expect to win anyway given the rotation) I was 2-0 up then conceded two, with the kicker final blow a Neymar goal in the 88th minute condemning me to defeat.
  • Missing out on Cavani, I decided to then go for Kompany as a replacement for Vidic. Was reluctant to go for Kompany first off due to his lack of versatility (he used to be able to play in midfield) and secondly because he keeps getting injured constantly in real life so is unlikely to rise in the near future. With the way SM has treated Vidic, he'll probably be 92 in a few months time so probably best to go for Kompany and I bid...
  • However, Arsenal and Manchester City are from the RS/Ben school of bidding and once again bid when I wasn't on, late into the bidding process (sometime between midnight and 9amish) but fortunately when I came on, the bids hadn't been accepted - though a few more hours and they would have been. I then decided to change my bid, up it by a few million and when the bids had been accepted fortunately I found out I won. Looked like both City and Arsenal bid via the app, which is what I did originally. When I changed my bid, I went in via the desktop site and put in a custom bid which wasn't a fixed price, and was just over £30M which was City's bid

If only I had managed to get Cavani...

de Gea (91)
Rafael (91) Ramos (95) Vidic (94)
Carrick (92) Bender (91)
Ronaldo (98) Gotze (93) Bale (94)

Cavani (94) Messi (99)

I could see it happening. I panic PMd RS saying "what do you reckon Ben is up to?" When I saw he sold 16 mill worth of players. I lumped all my cash on Falcao then to make sure that was safe. Arsenal also sold Keissling, City sold a few too. Always gonna have last minute bids then.

Yikes. For the past few days I had only been going online on anything via my tablet for a few hours and even then, when I went on SM it was only for a few minutes and I didn't see those deals being done.

I was sort of fortunate that I didn't need to sell before buying, though if I had got Cavani, both Michu and Carrick would have been sold at the end of the season (Carrick's still likely to be sold at the end of the season but Michu... probably not as I don't have a replacement for him yet) and if I had won the race for Kompany, I'd be selling Vidic at some point.

I wasnt trying to feck you over with a bid when you were sleeping. I only went for Kompany when I saw i had lost out on Cazorla. Couldnt go in before that.

Aye, I understand.

Kompany's come in low on fitness so won't be making his debut until Thursday at the earliest. Hopefully by then Juventus will have been reviewed.

My rating increases are done. Don't think Aldrobandi will be done as he's on loan to a Serie B team and Nagatomo didn't increase

tba - 90 - Yuto Nagatomo
+ 1 - 87 - Ogenyi Onazi
+ 5 - 80 - Ibrahima Mbaye
+ 3 - 80 - Raffaele Di Gennaro
+ 3 - 78 - Bruno Petkovic
+ 1 - 78 - Laurentiu Branescu
tba - 75 - Simone Aldrovandi

I hope Spain are done next!

Manchester United are delighted to announce the £30M signing of defender Vincent Kompany from Stoke City on a three-season contract.

"We're delighted to get our man," said United manager Damien, "He is one of the best centre backs out there and is the ideal candidate to replace Nemanja Vidic at some point in the future."

He will be wearing the number 5 shirt for the club, and is expected to make his club debut on Thursday against Hull City.

United squad numbers:

1. David de Gea
2. Rafael da Silva
3. Alex Sandro
4. Sergio Ramos
5. Vincent Kompany
6. Paul Pogba
7. Cristiano Ronaldo
8. Lars Bender
9. Perez Michu
10. Lionel Messi
11. Gareth Bale
12. Mario Gotze
13. Ben Amos
14. Kyriakos Papadopoulos
15. Nemanja Vidic
16. Michael Carrick
17. James McCarthy
18. Christian Eriksen
19. Serge Aurier
20. Luc Castaignos
21. Lucas Digne
23. Alarcon Isco
45. Mario Balotelli

Damo should be happy, Pogba up 1 to 90.

:D Brilliant. Can't see him rise again this season due to them not being in the CL, but to be 90 at this stage in his career I'm very happy with.

Gotze (93)
Carrick (92)
Bender (91)
Eriksen (90)
Pogba (90)
McCarthy (88)

as my CM options with:

Isco (91) - mainly plays on wing for me
Michu (90) - mainly fourth choice/cup striker

as other options there is great.

McCarthy should be rising to 89 when the Prem is reviewed, hopefully, and with Michu and Carrick on the way out, the core five of: Gotze, Bender, Eriksen, Pogba, McCarthy with Isco as another option should fare me well.

Beat Reading 3-0. Gotze is putting in a good claim to be a forward. He scored one in the last game (and nearly had another which was ruled offside), and scored two in this game - one as a forward and the other in midfield.

Spurs lost so I'm top of the table at the end of the year. Close at the top though with three points between the top five.

Next three games are Hull away, Newcastle at home and finally Fulham at home in the Cup. Big week...

Oh I have a tough schedule coming up, forest, united, Fulham and spurs in a row. Then City and Liverpool. This will decide my season.

Defenders rated 87+

Sergio Ramos (27/95 - RB/CB)
Nemanja Vidic (32/94 - CB)
Vincent Kompany (27/93 - CB)
Rafael da Silva (23/91 - RB/RM)
Alex Sandro (22/89 - LB/LM)
Kyriakos Papadopoulos (21/89 - CB/DM)
Serge Aurier (21/88 - RB/CB/LB)
Lucas Digne (20/88 - LB)
Kurt Zouma (19/88 - RB/CB)
Nathaniel Clyne (22/87 - RB/LB)
Diego Reyes (21/87 - CB/DM)

Enough for a football team - and can fit 8 of them into a lineup without being out of position (red = out of position):

Zouma (88)
Ramos (95) Vidic (94) Kompany (93) Digne (88)
Rafael (91) Papadopoulos (89) Reyes (87) Sandro (89)
Clyne (87) Aurier (88)
I might be having to make some tough decisions soon, which probably aren't actually that tough given from all of those, Reyes, Clyne, Aurier and Vidic are the obvious ones to let go.
Two days into the transfer window and not a lot of speculation involving my players apart from Zouma's being linked with a move to Chelsea, though is said to be likely to happen in the summer with Barcelona wanting Luiz still.
PSG seem to want Pogba in the summer - please no.

Phew. Beat Hull 2-1, but the downside is Balotelli is going to miss the next three games after being sent off (Newcastle (H), Fulham (H - Cup), Bristol City (H)), while Papadopoulos picked up an injury and misses those three games as well as a fourth in Blackburn (A).

Not great timing as I was planning on rotating for the cup. Hmm.

Solid draw for me. Forgot to change things as Forest like to counter. On stats I could have lost.

11 shots on target and only scored 1 goal. Beat you on possession too! Tried a new formation and it seemed to work nicely, you bastards injured Adriano though, only a minor injury mind. Happy with the away draw though!

Beat Reading 4-3. Was 4-1 up at one stage.

I dunno what's going on with the rating system, barely any players have been rated last few days. Dunno why Suarez gets special treatment when the Premier League and La Liga haven't been reviewed. SM's rating system is so odd.

Because he's class. :p

Suarez 94

Let's hope he keeps on rising.

It's all over the place. Much preferred the league by league structure they done when we started. It was much easier to plan ahead. Either soccerwiki changed their structure, or SM wanted to make things a little less predictable.
