DALVI TARGETED BY "WITCH HUNT"
New Everton boss, Syd Martinez has told the media to go easy on young upstart Omar Dalvi after the Blackpool manager received bad press leading up to and after his clubs tie with Manchester United.
Martinez stated "It is easy for some people to have a pop at the young boy but it is characters like that the make the sport that little bit more interesting". Martinez went on to say "Yes he got taught a few things tonight on and off the pitch but he is young and learning and he certainly won't be getting an ear bashing from myself. My door is always open if he wants a word of advice, my first one would be to keep himself to himself though and concentrate on his own club for now". "The media love a good witch hunt though don't they?"
EVERTON KROOS TO VICTORY WHILST MARTINEZ HAILS YOUTH
Martinez, who unveiled new signing Toni Kroos at half time during his sides 3-1 home victory to Darlington, seems satisfied with his business so far.
"We have a couple of deals lined up but that is more squad wise. I think the first team is sorted in my head now, it is just about assembling the right squad for the long term, not simply an instant fix".
Martinez' signings so far have included big names such as Kevin Prince Boateng, Fernando Llorente, Jerome Boateng and Paul Scholes but true to his word his has brought in some of the finest young talents in world football.
"People are banging on about the big names. Of course they help. I think the most exciting thing about being an Everton fan is seeing the likes of Lucas, Alba, Kroos, Rodwell, Oscar, Maher, Thievy, Bartra and Peybernes all develop".
Peybernes recently completed a loan move to Middlesbrough where he has made a solid start. When pushed on possible loans for his young guns Martinez said "Anything is possible. If the right club comes in and the deal is right for us then why not"
