Gaming The SM RedCafe League

So a newb told me to post this

So i had no idea how the new credit system worked, just realised i had about 5000 saved up for some reason so decided to buy myself gold for a month.

I reclaimed my very old league (Season 11 now i think) which i made with some mates years back. It's deserted now apart from me but i want to get it started again.

Although i have a tidy squad as united, there are plenty of quality teams in division 1 which could challenge me.

But my idea was for all you guys to inherit the worst squads in division 4 (Accrington, Rhyl etc.) which have their base squads intact. They have plenty money now and everyone could build their own type of team from the unmanaged and external players (I'm not going to buy anyone as united as it would be pointless to the challenge).

Thought this could be quite interesting, a kind of race to division 1 challenge which would take several seasons.

If you are interested here's the id: 23615

It's currently only 13 games into the season so plenty of time to recover if you're team is doing badly at the moment.

Please just reply to this if you are interested with your chosen team so i know to accept you. If you don't want to be in division 4 i will still consider letting you in but priority goes to those applying for division 4.

If division 4 gets more than say 5 new managers i'll do some write-ups every week about how things are progressing and analysing your signings/tactics etc.

Thanks

 Balotelli has lost his ability to play on the wings - it wasn't that long ago he last played there! Stupid, stupid timing. I was going to play him there today.

Meanwhile, Bale can still play at LB despite probably not playing there for years (not that I'm complaining too much as him playing there now and again could be useful).

Oh what problems you have Damo :(

Thauvin scored another 2 goals yesterday. Yoink!

'tis tough being manager of United :(

It's just frustrating as the same thing happened to van Persie earlier in the season so my plans on doing 4-4-1-1 changed (though I suppose I can't complain as I've done better with the new system).

Ogbonna and Mangala potentially for sale if the price is right.

drew with Villa, hoped for more but not bad. Getting tight around 10th now. Hamsik out for 3 weeks is a big blow though.

I had Nani with a double

Very nice. Think your squad should get a European spot this season.

10 points separate United and fifth which is nice and there is a six point gap over third. You play Chelsea next in the league so I hope you win it.

My next game is away to Newcastle. Lost 1-0 in the reverse fixture and four of the players who started that game (Badstuber, Diego, Nani and Anderson) are no longer at the club.

Millwall 2-8 Stoke.

Falcao scored no goals.

Nice scoreline.

10 losses! That is poor, that start to the season cost me again. I should be closer to 40 points by right at this stage of the season with my squad. Playing Damo next, may drop out of top 10. Must win game against Derby then Sunday.

It's an odd season. Most teams in Division 1 have got a lot of losses - apart from City and Everton who have decided they're too cool for that and have decided to go for the highest number of draws instead.

I've always had a lot of losses and not a lot of draws across the 3 seasons. Hoping to cop on a bit now. 42 (or is it 45) points is my best tally over a season. Either way this season will be some sort of an improvement, less losses next season would be nice!

The Wolves manager has come up with an idea for a new league, which you can all read below:

The Redcafe SM Draft League

- The idea for this new gameworld would be for everyone's clubs to start empty, with the chosen clubs' players free agents. (Thus the top clubs are being used so the free agent 'pool' is of good quality)
- Before the league begins we hold a 25-round draft on the caf, whoever you draft is now yours to sign from free agency.
- This will allow everyone to begin with a squad of their choosing and hopefully making the league competitive in every match, right from the get-go.
- At the end of every season there will probably be some supplemental draft whereby remaining external players will be signed, the worst team from last year getting the first pick. There may also be a youth draft but as of now these are just extra ideas
- Most logistics are still being worked out so this post is just to see how much interest there is from here in the mains so we can work out whether or not this is worthwhile.

Currently we have 7 (including non-newbs) interested and it's currently being organised by me, Damien and BarneyLFC.

So anyone interested?

Cheers, Kagz

If interested, please post. Still in the early stages of planning but I think it is a good idea.

Sounds like a cool idea to me. Seems like it'll be similar to how things work in American sports. I'd be interested, it'd mean mostly everyone would be pretty evenly matched.

Sounds like a cool idea. I'm in

Would it be sort of everyone picks 1 player in turn until you have a full squad? I quite like the sound of that.

Need a striker!

Willing to trade Van Der Vaart + cash, dependant on player rating etc.

Chiriches upto 87  handy out, didnt expect that unless he got a move to a bigger club. Laxalt up 3 aswell before his impending move to Inter.

Of course. I don't need him at all :)

We're going to League 3, we're going to League 3!

Cheers.

I don't know why I'm still playing this game. I've been playing it for a year, yet it's awful! I suppose this is where proper football manager should go next though, that would be awesome.

Beat Newcastle 2-1. Bale and Vidic were the goalscorers.

Next game is a big one at home to Arsenal, and on Monday I play the first leg of my game against Fenerbahce.
