2:0 victory in the League Cup final against Southend United. Definitely didn't deserve that victory. Weghorst has been an incredible signing for me - signed purely to fill the gap while Mbappe was injured but has scored 7 goals and 1 assist in 5 Cup games including 3 MOTM performances.

Well done and congrats @Damien
Thanks. I think it is wild that Liverpool only ever won two trophies with the last one being back in season 4 despite being managed by Liverpool fans for 400+ games. What you, Frank and MG did in charge of Everton was very impressive and probably only exceeded by the feat of Ben, MG and Rav to turn Darlington from Div 5 into the the third most successful club (and second most successful domestically). Shame they look like entering a period of quietness like City and Chelsea did.

I think @green_smiley at Southend is on the brink, winning two trophies recently and making it to the final and semi final of the cups this season while the other four Div 5 experiments in you, Hereford, Kiddy and Gillingham are slowly getting there too. Took 10 seasons after greeny first made it to Division 1 for him to win trophies and he's probably got one of the best young squads in the league now.

NGL sort of happy with the result. Messed up my subs and had Odegaard playing LB. Also Greenys team shouldve had no issues walking over me

Aston Villa have won the Shield.

dwwKFeY.png

Now the big question: can Aston Villa catch up to Arsenal before they win their next trophy?

I've gone through all the seasons and put together a table of where teams rank based on their average finish the past five seasons:

Really shows how well some teams did going from being in Division 5 like Darlington, Southend United and Hereford to being in the top 20 for the past five seasons with the likes of Leyton Orient probably the next to achieve that.

Worst Finish and Best Finish is in the 24 season history of the league, and I've got a 24 season average on the spreadsheet which, while cool to see who has been consistent over that time isn't great for teams who were in the bottom Division for 10 or so seasons then got taken over and became a Division 1 team as the previous seasons drag them down (see: Southend United whose 24 season average is 38.5 and Darlington whose 24 season average is 15.5 despite the latter being a force in Division 1 for 20 seasons)

Fingers crossed! Will put some more stats up at end of season including player stats which unsurprisingly have been dominated by Ronaldo and Messi
