The Shock of Lightning & Dig Out Your Soul

Ting Tings, Reverend & Makers, The Last Shadow Puppets, Kooks and Kanye West have all produced better albums, based on my first two listens of Oasis' album. I'm no Coldplay fan but many might put that in there too, along with others. But I'm still reviewing it so I'm not slagging it off just yet.

Not a single one of them bands interest me in the least, especially the kooks. Awful stuff from them.

Hey! I may be derivative, tired and cliched - but I am in no way soulless!
And seeing as everyone else has listened to an album, and is posting on here saying how good/mediocre/disappointing the album is... I might as well join in - I mean everyone else is

 Relax, the smirk all you need to know about my post.

Im astonished that anyone could ever say the Kooks have produced an album that comes anywhere near any of oasis'.

Each to their own I guess.

Does it really matter if i say its ok, or its great, or its a load of shit.
If you like it thats all that really matters.
why does what anybody else think matter at all?
if 10 thousand people say its crap, will anybody who loves it love it any less?.
like noel said if you like it, you like it, if not sell it.

id like to see them work with other artists, try diffirent sounds, vocals.
their die hard fans will support them to the end, that love never seems to die.
good luck to them tbh.

tv on the radio's dear science album is really fookin good tho:P

The Kooks?

...What? the fecking kooks?

I would rate their 7 Studio Albums as:

Definitely Maybe > Whats The Story? Morning Glory > Dig Out Your Soul > Be Here Now > Heathen Chemistry > Don't Believe The Truth > Standing on the Shoulder of Giants.

Familliar to Millions is also a very enjoyable album, some excellent versions of some excellent songs.

I think The Masterplan is a cracking album too.

Yeah the Live album is top class. Supersonic is brilliant live.

Can't wait to see them on the 29th :D :D :D :D

I actually liked Heathen Chemistry, more than DBTT.

Although the days of me listening to an Oasis album continuously passed after Be Here Now, which I actually liked as well. Just grew out of them I suppose.

Still, I had a ticket to see them a few years back but couldn't go, so at least this year I'll be able to tick another one of the band's of my youth off my live list.

Oasis at Old Trafford? Highly unlikely. Could be the council house again, maybe.

yeah but Liam said "If I gave you 500 guesses you'd never guess where it would be," No one expects Oasis to play Old Trafford, but it would be the type pf thing that they would do. Saying that I don't think it will be Old Trafford

Having listened to this album quite a few times now, I can say I have been quite impressed. It is a definite grower, only a couple of tracks let it down.

not sure I would have chosen 'Im Outta Time' as the new single (it is one the tracks written by Liam) but here is the new video anyway

Seeing them tonight. First of their US tour dates. Oasis were my favourite band when I was a kid (when they first came out) so to see them live will be special, even if I don't listen to their new stuff much.

My brother saw them a few years ago when they were doing My Generation. Any covers this time around (apart from Walrus)? I heard they do a Kinks song?

Nah :( They don't play Live Forever either, which I was quite gutted about. They do practically all their other famous tunes. They did Slide Away, which I was chuffed about. They finished with Walrus, tho'. Might be a different set in America, I saw them in Belfast.
