The Second RedCafe Sheep Draft

Agreed. Drama for the sake of it; it's basically a "everyone loses their best player" round because "twist!". Not that I think doing it randomly would be any better. The idea of these things for me is to minimize the luck as much as possible and make sure the best team wins, but maybe I'm on my own with that view. Wouldn't feel right to me if NM lost Platini and went out just because of this. There's probably more participants than spectators in this thread so I don't think creating spectacle should be the priority.
It's a pity that Skizzo went to America at such a young age, he was just about vulnerable and impressionable enough for Hollywood to leave a devastating mark on his character, and we now in this draft are facing the repercussions.

I think you need to wake up to the fact that you and all other participants aren't the "customers" here. You are just 16 chaps who willingly agreed to become guinea pigs in an elaborate social experiment.

@Cutch what are you thinking? are we injuring sheep or really trying to KO each other.

@Skizzo @Balu whose left to decide? Looking forward for the draw.

Also, another question which should be decided sooner rather than later, how will reinforcements go? I think you two should decide on it before we move on with matches etc

Eh, I don't get this round at all.

So we ban any player and there are no more reinforcements, so teams will be lining up with no keeper or left back etc?

Teams are going to get completely fecked

We have to replace the player from the legacy list for the first game only.

They won't. You can't lose your keeper (they're immune to injuries). And if you lose your LB, you get to replace him with a legacy player (obviously one who can play LB).

The legacy list that was posted way back is incomplete/preliminary. As pointed out before, OGS is the only striker on that list. Which he obviously won't be if and when half of you end up with injured strikers.

PM shenanigans and deals of any kind between active managers are usually frowned upon in these drafts, no? Sort of an unwritten rule (might even have been part of the stated rules in this particular draft, can't remember).

I'd stay clear of it - but hey, I ain't playing.

Wasnt aware that we got legacy replacements - apologies.

Dont see anything wrong with tactical deals, otherwise you may as well just remove the best player from each team and be done with it.

It also makes the point about not facing the corresponding manager in the first round rather pointless.

Of course there would be no way of making sure any deals were kept, which adds some interest.

Haven't engaged in anything of that sort myself but don't see anything wrong with it in this scenario. Like Theon said, there is always the risk of someone backstabbing you as it isn't an 'official' deal.

Anyway I've already sent my pick (a player that he wouldn't want on his team) and it's not like he has to reciprocrate that or anything. So I've got nothing unscrupulous or anything planned, was just curious about the general etiquette in these draft games.

If you could face them then you WOULD take the best player away. The point is that you can be tactical about how convenient it is to send the other team more or less weakened into next round. E.g. NM and Cutch have two of the best teams and a great opportunity to severely weaken a potential rival and see them go out.

Don't see any other tactic that makes sense tbh, except trading vote promises, which is why some of these deals might come under DRAFTA scrutiny.

To echo this. Are deals like this legit @Skizzo ?

Well, since Skizzo doesn't deem this worthy of a answer and as rules do not prohibit this, we've done it.

If prohibited, we'll submit again.

Just being smarter than the average bear.

Hint: I've severed all ties with Team Sajeev so that I can impartially participate in DRAFTA's anti-corruption unit.

What's a DRAFTA? Is it short for Draft A**

We just need to injure players now? Or to injure and also to pick someone from a legacy pool?

I've been out all morning, so it had nothing to do with it not being deemed worthy.

Every pick so far stands. I'll just say that the managers who sent picks in the spirit of the draft and how it was supposed to be done, will be glad they did. The rest of you who have whined about every single thing, will have something else to whine about.

We have made Skizzo mad.:nervous:

I wonder what he will come up with next!

So I just pick a player from Joga Bonito's team to make him unavailable? Is that it to the round? Littbarski was on the injured list on page 88, so has he already lost him?
