Müller takes the cake, shame the other one is a sheep though.

Just imagine Pele and Müller

Keizer and Dzajic sounds great, love both of em but how are you accommodating them @Raees? Weren't they both LW? Guessing one of them must be versatile enough to play on the right or in the middle. Great picks regardless.

Keizer as Robben. He has played in a variety of roles before settling left wing..

If I'm not mistaken, only @BorisDeLeFora has no goalkeeper yet? You need to pick one in the next round. Because we changed round 7 to double pick round, the deadline for getting a goalkeeper moves forward from round 9 to round 8.

ROUND 8 CRITERIA

Pick a player, who played a full season in one of the 'top 5' leagues in Europe (Spain, England, Germany, Italy, France) from the 2000/01 season onwards.

Remember, that every team has to have a goalkeeper after this round, so if you don't have one yet, pick one or you'll be awarded a sheep goalkeeper instead of your pick at the end of this.

Really? I helped Stobz out a bit once and he was just never ever on, think it was that draft where he wouldn't even do writeups. Him having more time explains his improved form in the last couple of drafts, mind. Still predictably unpredictable, except for player size and Verón. That was cruel actually, that Verón of all people would lead him to a sheep.

Well, I'm not really an AM like Theon is. I'm more like Mourinho under Sir Robson or van Gaal. Stobz doesn't really need me; he has the time to go through these crafts. I, on the other hand, wanted to get involved in these drafts but didn't really have the time for them and wasn't draft-savvy enough to really do well in them. Having a mentor helps me out with the exposure to the drafting game, particularly as my football knowledge is limited to 1999 onwards.

Wait, is the criteria for this round to pick any modern player, basically?

So there will be 9 rounds and not 10? 12 players in total or 13? (@Skizzo mentioned 13 earlier).

Wait, is the criteria for this round to pick any modern player, basically?
That's what he wrote me, yes. Looks like Skizzo decided you deserve an easy round for a change after all the difficult ones.

Had no clue NM was in the mix. Feck! I'm devastated. Inconsolable. Tragic.

I called it several pages ago, it was clear as daylight NM had got Carlos Alberto, Balu even toold me off for making it obvious but you were too worried about harms being in "your game".

The silver-lining is the Evil Gods have overruled Djemba-Djemba, too similar to Desailly apparently (I found that racist, if anything). So you won't be missing Costacurta as you now have Andranik Eskandarian, who has been in the sheep list since I noticed how many cards he picked at WC 78.

So you literally have nothing to do with this, bar Kahn/Blanc (or "the Baixinho was so short we didn't notice him").

No, I know about many of Stobz's picks. What I meant was that I've never seen them in full matches live. Of course, I've read up on them and watched their highlights, but I've never seen full matches of the past teams. I've only seen full matches since the age of 6 from 1999 onwards.

In other news, seditious factions openly revolted against Chairman Balu after he bullied one of his minions into going back on his word and awarding some random Iranian as a sheep.

The rest of the Sheep Committee unanimously agreed Djemba was far more fun and the on-thread authority of the minion majority had to be preserved despite largely being kept in the dark throughout proceedings.

Something fishy is getting cooked up, dunno, maybe it has something to do with those legacy players? Hmmmm...

@Edgar Allan Pillow can't say he hadn't been warned:

Fine, but Djemba had been drafted in for sheep duty so one of you poor sods will get him soon enough.
I'm drunk and would lije my sheep before I nod off.
There you go:

When is the deadline? I won't be able to pick until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest.

Think Edgar should get a better player as a third sheep since a precedent was set with MJJ getting Iuliano as his third, who is head and shoulders above any other sheep in this draft. For scan voters he won't even count as a sheep infact.

that was on the basis of the criteria.

i think the sheep as much as possible should also meet the criteria

If that was the case, my fourth sheep wouldnt have been sinclair.

Mmm some really good picks all round here.
I'm really pleased with Vierchowod, one of my draft favorites and a great fit next to Ferrara, they compliment each other brilliantly don't they?

You are a lucky man @harms, I thought Cabrini was gone in MDFC's first round feckup (Cabrini - Laudrup - Koeman).
I thought so too, earlier, but when I've done my extensive research, I decided that he is much more likely to go for Van Basten's partners, considering that he has him in the team and is (maybe wrongly) known as the most logical (=predictable, in this round, but it's not a negative) manager in this draft. And I decided that Brehme would be the first choice for most as a left back, and Sven picked him alright. As I said earlier (before receiving a bloody sheep), nothing to do with luck :p

Feck you, though, I woke up to see that you tagged me in the thread, I thought that I was getting a sheep - and Balu's colour editing didn't help

Edit: Colours in the original post are fine, it's your quoting skills (or are you winding me up even after the round ended?)

When does Van Hanegem and Crujff overlap? Van Hanegem ended his career in the end of 1982/83 and went to be their assistant manager, when Crujff arrived in 1983/84.

Here, Cruyff is still Ajax's player in 1982/83.

Did I miss something? If so, brilliant pick, @MJJ, was hoping to get him at some point, but with all those criterias it's quite hard.

@Skizzo @Balu

@Edgar Allan Pillow you can't say I didn't warn you! I suspected that he can be blocked, with MDFC going after one Milan player when most of the big guns are already picked/blocked. But you thought that I was just winding you up, didn't you...
