He protected Nilton in all three rounds and if I'm not mistaken, no one even tried to go for Charlton
FFS
Or he can ignore the winger completely, and still draft towards a diamond.

Correct. But per the criteria I thought I wouldn't be getting a winger. If I did, I would have more seriously considered trading Pirlo.

Not arguing, just saying ambiguity and discretion screwed me.

He didn't because he assumed he was blocked. So did harms earlier. The more people thought like that the easier he would have been to pick.
Why am I the last to know this?

I assumed that he can leave Batistuta and protect Breitner, it was 50/50 in my book, but I gambled and I lost (I needed Breitner more). It was the second round though and I thought that someone had already taken some second-grade (a little harsh?) player from Raees.

I am also disappointed in Annah! No sense of adventure.

I'm so smart, I even predicted Cutch blocking N. Santos! Such a shame that I'm also incredibly stupid. Should've gone for Bozsik in the first round, as I wanted, but he and Alonso doesn't suit each other well and I wanted to offload Perez for some GOAT. Greed :(

Also wanted Bergomi but could've afforded kps anyone of interest to him - good to know that he was blocked all three round anyway.

@Skizzo what's NoPace's move in the first stage?

And my respect to @MDFC Manager, you don't give up easily - good thing that I had my favorite banana-man by my side, he saved me once (twice) again. Not a big fan of Reuter.

Not sure what we're gonna do with a winger but hey ho.

Or actually play him, just get a bit creative with the formation. Symmetry is overrated anyway.

I was considering changing the block just for the amusement of the draft. But the only bad thing that anybody could do to me was swap out their keeper for one of my players. I felt indifferent about losing Guardiola/VDS/Lizarazu to say the least and with Voller in I still feel the same way. Lost a great player, gained a great player.

It's actually a good thing he got Hagi. A better fit than Schweinsteiger in that midfield alongside Effenberg and Breitner imo.

I guess Breitner would have played leftback and Schweinsteiger/Effenberg together in midfield.

Delighted to come through that unscathed and also acquire one of my all time favourites.

Couldn't risk losin Nilton Santos so blocked him throughout. Had a gut feeling i could get away without blocking Charlton but very scared of losing Bozsik, particularly to whoever it was that had Hidegkuti. I did think Santos was certain to attract interest.

Didn't wanna lose any of my players but out of all of them it had to be Hamrin. Lookin good on the flanks now with Zanetti, Santos and Gento.

Your team looks tops now mate. Excellent job, even if you did mess up my plan!

And @mazhar13 , I really should thank you for goofing out Skizzo's quiz. I would have absolutely HATED to lose Desailly!

Yeah, I chickened out, he was my first thought when I saw the rules of this round.

Fantastic team, mate!

I'm confused. Why didn't I get Roberto Carlos in round 3, or why didn't This go through for MJJ in round 2:
MJJ - Block Nesta - Swap R. Carlos for Puskas

NM already lost a player (Zanetti)

Your pick seems legit to me? @Skizzo

Also I was close to going for Roberto Carlos with my pick!

NM lost Zanetti in the first round, so couldn't lose another player in the 2nd round. That's why the swap for Puskas fell through.

We discussed your 3rd round trade and felt that the following part of the rules for this criterion applied:
C) Which player you propose to swap him for - no sheep allowed (sheep being the pink coloured ones in the player roster), you can't propose a player the other manager has no need for (e.g. a second GK, second RB/LB, etc. straight swaps are recommended). The Game Master's take and decision on this will be final.
MJJ already had 2 centerbacks (Nesta & Iuliano), giving him a 3rd centerback seemed really unfair at this point. That's why it fell through in the end. We had several cases like that actually, but with the exception of yours, they didn't matter because the targeted player was blocked anyway.

@Annahnomoss Can I have a short profile on Landa for my trouble please, including his full name and wiki page.

Honorino Landa Vera (1 June 1942, in Puerto Natales - 30 May 1987, in Santiago) was a Chilean football player.[1]

Once he received his high-school diploma in 1959, he went to play for the Unión Española (Spanish Union) team.He was the youngest player of the Chilean team that won third place in the 1962 FIFA World Cup, and was one of the disgraced players directly involved in the Battle of Santiago incident during the Group 2 match between Chile and Italy. Despite that Pele expressed his admiration and support after the controversial incident "The only thing more dangerous than his temper, aggression and work rate was his footballing ability" argued Pele.

Di Stefano was another admirer of the great Chilean, describing him as the best goalscorer he had seen since Puskas. Popcorn, popcorn.

In 1961, he scored 24 goals in the national championship; thanks to this, he was called up for the national team of his country. He stopped playing soccer in 1975.
