dont see who voted but i dont think anyone apart cal? is following drafts

Ffs I thought you tagged him for a second.

I somehow don't like the fullback upgrades that Jim Beam has made. Alvez isn't the best defensively and Cole is just so easy to dislike for some reason.

Will give this one to Moby.

I have a question then. Could have picked Djalma Santos instead of Alves. Do you think he would be a better fit considering my system?

Alves is perfect for your system

Didn’t vote because I really couldn’t separate the teams much

Moby was unfortunate to lose this.. His team is as good as it gets but can’t fault the synergies of Jim’s team..

Those showings were based on Ronaldo playing in highly defensive line ups with the likes of Pepe in midfield and providing Ronaldo with hardly any service to work with.

There's no chance of restricting service for Ronaldo here, the entire team is absolutely brimming with creativity and this game will see Ronaldo probing across the entire backline with Seeler and Figo constantly dovetailing with him and finding himself wherever the easiest route to goal is, with the entire supporting cast playing him in with ease.

The difference between those games and this one is night and day and those duels hold literally no relevance here.

I got a bit confused with your playing style. You said you were playing on the counter but nothing like Jose's Madrid, more like Madrid under Zidane. Suddenly you posted a video of Madrid counter attacking under Jose:nervous:

I thought it was clear that you were on the backfoot and had to do a good amount of defending in your own half. For that I didn't think that your fullbacks were good enough, particularly Gerets who is known as an attacking fullback. Lizarazu is a good one, but he was up against a monster combo of Gullit + Alves. Your midfield also could have used a bit more workrate for such tactic, losing Iniesta was a blow in that regard.

@Jim Beam At first I was underwhelmed by the Cole and Alves picks, but Cole was badly needed here and Alves was a genius pick in hindsight. I really love that right side combo of Gullit + Alves of yours. Probably the only possible major upgrades can be some better players for Vasovic and Cole, the rest is golden.

Almost changed my vote as I liked both teams. Thought it was an unfair draw.

Jim I think should mix it up a bit now or the lineup would start looking a bit stale.

Regarding Alves, I agree with those who say he is perfect for that team. I would recommend to not upgrade him even if Carlos Alberto or Cafu is available. In this setup, Alves is tier 1 for me.

Agree with both of you in terms of upgrades and looking a bit stale if I don't mix it up, but tbh going total football with only 2 Dutch players allowed gives you a bit of a headache.

Slightly late to have voted for Moby.

Bless you, my child.
