Gaming The RedCafe NBA Simulation 32/33 | Mid Season Update | Everyone is getting old, but some people are even older | BasketballGM

Aww feck it. This really fits into the last couple of days. At least I decided against a bragging post once V.O. injury was posted.

Blasted by wolves and by Kevin Durant on the same morning.

feck's sake, I edited the BB Code of the post to get rid of some mysterious massive gaps on mobile, but now I realize it caused the spoilers to stack sideways of the pictures of the previous spoiler.

Damn you, tables. Damn you to hell.

Edit: Fixing it didn't make any sense but it worked. Now there's just the fact that tables and stacked spoilers are bad on mobile. Maybe I just make one big spoiler in the future, and then let you scroll down through that. Maybe stacking all of them is pointless.

Pretty sure all semi finalists in the East would top the West conference table.

Another Caf v Caf match-up, as @hobbers takes on @V.O.. Except V.O. is injured and definitely won't play. In the west, @altodevil and the Lakers are taking away my will to live by still being here. No wonder everyone left for the East.

I'm going for tables again, so just... just don't read this on your phone. Did you know that if you've got a table and you try to select all of it, it might just break your browser tab, forcing a reload? Tables are evil. See Solius, this is what you force me to do to maintain the views in the face of competition from a younger, more dynamic RedCafe Experiment.

It will happen to you too, one day.

The V.O.'less New Jersey are headed for the Conference Finals, where they will face Kevin Durant and the Washington Wizards. We're seeing the upside of getting old and cheap: your team might not collapse at the first sign of personal misfortune. Even without V.O., the Nets have a starting line-up of 65+ rating players. Washington has 87-rated Kevin Durant.

On the other side, it's LA vs LA. Is altodevil really going to make his 5th straight final? Or maybe the Clippers will finally show him what's what? He can't keep getting away with it.

We scraped the last round. I'm not confident. But my will to win is just too damn strong.

You told all your relatives, co-workers and friends, didn't you.

And then we have the whole caf that wants to see you fail. Didn't we/Sonics win one final against you? Wasn't aware at the time that this is a very rare feat.

There was actually a day or two when it suddenly jumped by probably 20k+, which was interesting. I guess it might have been linked somewhere, but I have no idea.

Anyway I appreciate the support, smash the like button, hit subscribe, click the bell, join the army, defect to North Korea, defect to South Korea, join a K-Pop band, tour with PSY.

Maybe the devs became aware, used it in a pitch for EA which will result in it being pay2win from the next season on?

It's going to be @altodevil's Lakers versus @V.O.'s Nets in the NBA Final! Unbelievably this is the first Cafite vs Cafite final! With all the good players we've had, that's a shock. The culprits are Chicago and Washington, who have spent the last 6 seasons knocking out some very good East teams with Cafites on them.

V.O. has 6 games left on his injury, but he'll be able to play through it with 3-4 games left. That means he'll definitely feature in the final, as the least likely playoff participant possibly ever!

We could be getting a new Caf champion, or altodevil could win his 5th in a row, 6th total.

As the next season is drawing close, the following are eligible for early retirement/reincarnation: @Skizzo, @Dan, @Samid.

This is just silly.

Going full 2012 CL final John Terry if we actually win though, naturally.

Incredible. V.O making it injured is a joke and makes a potential ring come with a huge asterisk.

We'll either have a 5-in-a-row @altodevil, or a new-champion @V.O.!

For the final we have the full match stats for everyone who played at least ~10 minutes.

E3SiGxI.png

The reigning champions take first blood! Kirk Hinrich leads the way with 38 points.

1-1!

R9Ark2q.png

2-1 to th Nets, and V.O. plays his first minutes in these playoffs!

gFLXIo8.png

It's all evened up, we've got a thriller on our hands.

W4Dw9iU.png

This is the power of the Nets, and why they made it to the final without V.O.: nobody has a great game, but they've got such an evenly strong team that they win even though the two best performances were by Lakers players (26 rebounds by altodevil, 8 blocks!). The Lakers seem heavily reliant on Kirk Hinrich scoring, and when he doesn't they're in trouble.

TU1gjaR.png

The winning streak has been broken! V.O. picks up another injury, but it's a small one - and he still managed to provide 9 points in his 12 minutes played. The Nets have won while only giving serious minutes to 6-7 players throughout the entire series. Congratulations to V.O., winning his first ring at 31!

Feels like a long time since I photoshopped my guy like that...

Is this the end of the dynasty or a brief pause? Nene and Hinrich must be getting on a bit. What's the contract situation like?

Can probably just call it quits at this stage. Not much point continuing the chase for GOAT status when you've just been scientifically proven to be the second best player on the '99 Cavs.

4 games played. Closer to my games played in the playoffs than alto's

For Lakers: No expiring contracts in your top 12 players. No expiring contracts in your starting 5 next year either. Age and decline is your only challenge.

For good measure, here are the Nets: No top 5 expiring contracts and top 3 players (after V.O.'s injury) are quite young.

Draft Lottery for the upcoming draft:

Yes, this means that the #1 pick will go the team with the best record in the East (Boston), and the #2 pick will go to the team with the second best record in the East (Washington).
