Film The Redcafe Movie review thread

It was a bloody terrible film. It made no sense and got worse as it went on. And on.

Alien is a good Sci-Fi film
Blade Runner is a good Sci-Fi film

Classics. :)

I like also Steven Spielberg's "A.I."

Pitch Black was not bad film too, I think.

I see not many people like Sci-Fi, here.

I love good Sci-Fi but there is so little of it. There is even less good horror.

Watch Donnie Darko mate, quality film that.

I watched the director's cut on DVD first and I was a little disappointed. I finally managed to get the original version which I think is a much better film since it leaves far more unsaid.

I think i would have enjoyed the Director's Cut more if I had seen them in a different order. Or maybe not.

The soundtrack is even better on the original BTW.

My son will be pleased. Another Spiderman and TMNT in tha same year - he will be made up.

Saw Babel last night.

A movie you could slit your wrists to.

haha
i walked out of babel at the interval .

well almost :nervous:
they sent me back sayin noone can leave before the show is over for safety reasons

saw 50 pills ..
not worth the time IMO .. 2/10 at best .

One of the best films i've seen ever. Although you'll need the director's cut to understand a few of the concepts.

I walked out before halfway through

What a load of bollocks. I suspected with Amores Peros that the guy was a bluffer, but couldn't quite be certain, now I know.

The Maltese Falcon

Interesting this one. The book's brilliant, despite being really badly written in terms of style. The film's pretty crap, despite being really stylishly made.

Rule 1 when making a film that relies on simmering sexual tension to drive the plot: don't cast a slightly rough actress in the lead role.

It literally ruined the film.

Don't bother Wibbs, it's really shit

I'm still irritated by The Maltese Falcon. Bridget O'Shaughnessy is meant to be an absolute knockout...that's wwhat drive the whole story

Spastics

Crash: An overly long and patronising lecture on racism by some rich white bloke. Oscar material? Feck right off. It was so patronising that it made me angry. -500/10

Or the Jacket. Or The Butterly effect apart from who plays the main role.

The Wild: Shows why Disney paid megabucks for Pixar. Dire almost direct copy of Madagascar without the humour. The fact the Koala has an English accent yet some small unidentified African creature has an Australian one pretty much sums up the laziness of this film. 1/10

Casino Royal: Excellent Bond Film, excellent new Bond. A must see. 8/10

I'd rather watch Event Horizon all day than watch Casino Royale. I will avoid that one for ever.

Dam You, Spoony !

Equilibrium was a bad movie, too ??

Christ... You don't like Sci-Fi, huh ?

If You like, then tell me what's your fav Sci-Fi.

Dead Mans Shoes: Set in Northern England, the retarded brother of a soldier is abused by a bunch of drug dealing wasters while he is away in the Army. This is a seemingly simple story of revenge but is in fact far more (and less in the hollywood sense). Funny, violent yet moving. If you hated Crash then you will love this. Probably my film of the year to date. The actor who plays the retarded brother deserves an oscar. 9/10.

No no no. I like Sc Fi. But I hate crap movies. Films like The Terminator, T2, Donnie Darko, Blade Runner, Alien, 2001 and Star Wars were fantastic. Quality Sci Fi.

Very good film that one. Made on a shoe-string budget too.

Better than which Crash, the one about boning cars or the one about boning that woman?

Anyway, playing spastics is easy. Every time a spastic-related film comes out, the actor playing the spastic gets all the plaudits, when in fact the great performance is the non-spastic one

eg Rain Man: plaudits - Hoffman, great performance (best of his career by miles) - Cruise

Awakenings: plaudits - De Niro, great performance - Williams

My Left Foot: plaudits - Day lewis, great performance - some other cnut, I haven't actually seen this film but it's probably true

I hope this helps

I'm satisfied with your statement Mr. Spoon

The Emperor will be pleased.
