Gaming The RedCafe General/Random Gaming Chat Thread

I had the same issue. On paper I should like it, as I generally enjoy similar games and I'm a huge fan of horror and sci-fi. But I found it incredibly boring. Nothing really happened during hours of playing, the atmosphere didn't do it for me and it moved at a snail's pace. It was a massive disappoint for me.
Exact same for me. Sci-fi horror narrative heavy with RPG elements should've been right up with my alley but it was just bleh.

Sekiro : Shadows Die Twice may be the first game,in what has been over 5 years now,a day one purchase

Yeap watched someone play the demo, think I'm sold. Did buy ds3 too when it was released in Japan a month early. Was great not having to worry about invaderrs

Valve have just banned a game called Rape day.

What the feck is wrong with some people? Who makes a game about rape? That guy needs serious mental help.

What the f*ck ?
You'd have to be one messed up individual to think up a game concept based around raping woman.Like, seriously f*cking messed up.

Confirm Reach remaster too and I'll be giddy with delight.

You got your wish.

Played Far Cry New Dawn recently. Pretty much meh for me. Fun as any Far Cry game but you aren't missing anything if you decided to skip it. Ubisoft only idea about improving their games is to add RPG elements to them. "Since CD project succeeded with Witcher 3 we should also do like them and make all our Games RPG" is what they are thinking probably.

I'm not really sold on the combat system. Everything seems to be about deflecting attacks to decrease enemy posture. I played through every single Soulsborne game without using parry, except on a few obvious enemies. I never really got the hang of it, never dared to rely on it and just didn't really enjoy it. This time around however, it seems pretty much the only viable way to play. So yeah, I'm not sure about this one.

Fingers crossed that it's another great game.

Meanwhile, Dota AutoChess remains the best thing ever

:eek::drool:

Never thought that would happen. That's some of the best gaming news in a very long time! I'd hoped Vampyr to be a sort of spiritual successor to Bloodlines, but what a disappointment that was. Can't wait for this one.
Thank feck!

Bloodlines with all the content unlocked is still installed on my PC and I keep thinking about going through it again. One of my favourite games ever.

Hopefully it'll be great  I guess I'll be waiting for the Steam release, though

Yep

Have you ever tried a steam controller btw? Got one for £12 with Sekiro, so figured it was worth a shot.

Got one with the early bird preorder back in 2015(?) with the Steam Link/£20 Steam voucher bundle from GAME.

Any good?

Well, I liked that I could use it to play non-controller supported games with a controller, and it also made games that did have janky controller support (like Portal 1) more enjoyable to play with a gamepad. The buttons all feel good, and I still use it to this day - mostly with a bracket mount for my phone & the Steam Link app for something like this:

It didn't take long for me to get comparable in FPS games with a typical controller (minus aim assist), but even after all this time mouse is still (obviously) many times better.

Biggest negative is that rechargeable batteries get stuck in the fecking thing, as they're slightly larger than standard AA batteries. Maybe they fixed that on later revisions, but getting them out has always been a hassle for me.

What happened to that steam machine concept?

I think the idea of prebuilt "Steam PC's" has died a bit, but Valve are doing wonders to support Linux with their Proton project, which is much more valuable than anything to do with ready made systems.

Cheers.
Don't really have time for video games these days anyway. I barely have time to play them on my phone.

Ive just completed Detroit Become Human. I really enjoyed it. The story can go in so many different directions depending on choices you make. Its the sort of game you could go back to many times.

There you go @Twigg. Starfield and Elder Scrolls won’t be at E3.

Before everyone asks, please be patient. It’s going to be a long time. It’s not something we’re going to be talking about at E3, either of those games, this year. And so patience, please, but you know, given the anniversary, we did want to give everybody a taste…

Pretty sure you were arguing for some reason that they would be coming out pretty soon, which was strange when they only showed a title screen. These look like games that will come out a few years into next gen.

I'm surprised you even remember I exist, nevermind the conversation we had

If it does take a few years then fair enough. I don't think my argument was strange though as I did draw on previous occurences to back it up if I recall correctly, but if you're proven right then fair play.

Oh God, reading that back I feel like I was coming across as a right knob. I hate when people state uncertain things as though they're certain and yet that's exactly what I was doing there. I can be so oblivious.

I doubt half the games even shown at last year's e3 will be coming out on the current generation of consoles, nevermind this year's event

If any of you are interested in checking out VR I recommend going for the Oculus quest. I've used every version of Oculus and HTC from 2010 but this product is by far the best VR proposition and really feels like the watershed moment.

Full room scale VR, No wires, No PC, No Cameras, No wireless battery packs, Great controllers, TV casting ability, Great line up of games at launch, very easy setup and use (30 seconds to turn on , 1 minute to choose your play space, incredible inside out tracking, very good graphical ability and very high quality lenses. All for only £399.

It's a magic piece of equipment. I played Vader Immortal

Incredible really recommend it

Saw a favorable review of this. Looks like a good jumping in point for VR.

It has porn, right?

I've watched this for a while and am tempted.

However I've played all the best current games on it and it won't be long before a more powerful version comes out I think, plus the Rift S looks interesting considering I have a powerful PC.

However, it does look like a very interesting moment to see if contained VR can take off. That price is good too, considering the controllers come with.
