Well, it's rivalling Steam by pushing developers into exclusivity while at the same time presenting a barebones product toward the users (no cloud saves, seriously?)Streaming is a huge thing now, and that moment was a defining point.
I'm really not against that side of gaming becoming so popular these days, in fact it's a good thing for gaming. Ninja and his ilk are proper gamers and they are having more and more influence in what companies do, it's leading to things like Epic rivaling Steam and pushing Sony to relax their stupid cross platform rules to boot. They are also highlighting cheating, bad business practices and most importantly they are all doing charity streams to help genuine causes along the way.
It's no longer about watching people play games, it's a new form of entertainment and one that's free and so far fair.
