I thought next one was test draft.
Is there any way of adding variation to the drafts like we do in the football drafts? All time drafts are getting a bit boring, maybe the cricket player pool isn't big enough? In test cricket i would imagine the pool would be big enough though.
yeah i was suggesting county drafts since its different. Like how we had the IPL draft. else it will just be more of the same players being just distributed differently

You've got a budget, bid on a player and if no one else bids within 12 hours you get the player.

A simple snake draft works best for test cricket. Can add conditions like 'billy no mates' or max 3 players who debuted in the same decade etc.
IMO Auction draft won't be much fun for test cricket.
Any format chosen, Bradman and Sobers would have to be excluded from the draft.

Auction draft requires a smaller pool so it works for t20. Even if you put a limit, you have about 50 years of players, so it's no use.
How about a World Cup auction draft?
Billy no mates would be interesting as with top players having long careers you are putting a whole generation of players in the block list for yourself. Someone like Sachin, Steve Waugh block 2-3 generation of players and this would make for interesting team selections.
We had too many limited over drafts in the past,but still World Cup draft is good idea which we should consider in future.
County draft doesn't exites me much,may be that's due my limited knowledge.
I would suggest Test auction draft with blocked pool.
Not more than 3 players from same decade is good idea.

Mumbai has messed up my schedule more like it. Not much time/energy left to do a lot when you're spending the entire day in office + the commute.
