I’ll take stab and say Joshua will gas around round 7 then Usyk will out box him but will be robbed on points..

I've seen more and more people give Usyk a chance. I think a Usyk who has weighed in the heaviest he has ever been but still over a stone lighter than a slimmed Joshua will get well beaten personally, albeit in the later rounds. Usyk as a heavyweight doesn't really belong at this level, but we'll see and happy to watch a good fight.

Joshua isn’t slimmed down he’s the same weight as he was for his last fight. If Usyk can dodge the early onslaught from Joshua which is likely as he’s a P4P unified champion I can see Joshua gas, but if Joshua lands then it’s probably lights out. I’m just picking the boxer here over the power Joshua should still be favourite.

Yeah, sorry I meant slimmed in the sense he's kept the same lighter weight as of the last fight. He's gassed previously but is lighter than the Klitschko fight and against Ruiz was 18st 2lb compared to the 17st 2lb here. I can't see Usyk handling it for 10 or more rounds, and has he got the punch to worry Joshua? If not, it's over, if he has then it could get interesting later on agreed.

We don’t really know if he has the power at this weight but he has a lot of knockouts at cruiser weight if he boxes well he could land a lot on Joshua which could do the trick anyway. Usyk is very elusive though and rarely gets hit flush but it is Anthony Joshua so we don’t know if he can get out of the way of that speed, interesting fight the closer we get to it.

I don't think this AJ is the same version as the one who used to gas. He looks like he's put muscle on his legs rather than on his upper body and that helped him to stick and move against Ruiz.

The AJ that fought Wlad and Takam was prone to gassing because he was 10 pounds heavier and also a bit top heavy.

The Ruiz Jr I fight was a bit of an anomaly because he looked out of sorts before the fight even started. Something was up. Wouldn't surprise me if the reports were true about Dawekjo knocking him out in sparring.

I'm going for an early rounds knock out for Joshua. Think he's going to bring it early doors and try and get Usyk out of there. If the fight goes long, I think Usyk wins.

Backed Usyk to win by KO/TKO for value. Hopefully AJ tries to box Usyk for the first 5 rounds or so, ends up clearly 5-0/4-1 down on the cards. Takes a few more risks. Then gets chinned or stopped.

Does anyone really believe Usyk can inflict some damage on AJ? I love Usyk but AJ is not Bellew.

If Joshua stays long and fights behind the jab with little commitment to much else and makes Usyk work even harder with the extra weight he's carrying, the opposite of what people think will happen might be on the cards, with Usyk gassing, not Joshua.

At his current weight, and with the power he has, Joshua is a wholly different proposition to what he faced at cruiser and the opponents he's faced as a heavy: this is a tall, long, powerful HW with one-shot K.O. power and a lethal uppercut. Credit to Usyk and his confidence and conviction, but it's a not contest where he can have those brawling exchanges where he turns up the pace in the middle rounds. He tries that with Joshua and he'll be seeing stars. Also wondering if he's got the power to really bother a top-end heavyweight.

I was thinking this'll be closer as a contest than I do now. Usyk's normal game relies on loads of movement and output whilst having a lot of exchanges with people he can take punches from before he generally ups the pace after sussing them out before overwhelming them, but Joshua can 'Klitschko' this fight (jab all night) and make Usyk work an inordinate amount at a heavier weight, which will disrupt the Ukrainian's flow, so I think this fight is as comfortable as Joshua makes it.

I’ve placed a small bet at 3.5/1 on Usyk TKO/KO 7-12 or win by decision.

Personally feel that as long as AJ used his reach advantage and boxes well off the jab he will win a decision, can’t wait to see the fight.

Does any really think a decision will go Usyk’s way? Like unless he totally dominates Joshua which I can’t see happening.

Think Usyk would get a draw at best via decision as there is no way Hearn is allowing his cash cow to do down on points and missing out on free money fights against Chisora and Whyte.

Yeah agreed.

Is it me or does the story of he and his mates fighting drunks near Spurs stadium being treated a little too light heatedly? They’re trained boxers and the bouncer is telling them what direction the idiot who started them in the club is heading after being thrown out?
This was a man facing 15 years In jail for fighting and other foolishness.

So after this is AJ going to take on a Lightweight next or maybe Audley Harrison?

Ha ha, feck me he was all signed up for Fury, Wilder has also admitted ducking him, and after Fury cancellation he has now taken the hardest fight available instead…. and he is still getting shit?

Not only is he a hard fight, but he's the mandatory WBO so Joshua had to take it

Just ordered the fight feck me £24.99 here’s me thinking it was £20 and still too expensive..

We have been hearing these excuses now for years and it just goes on and on.

He is supposed to be the heavyweight champion of the world and yet every fight is the same story blown up cruiserweights or light hitters.

I even saw a post suggesting he should fight White or Chisiora yet again  why ? To prove what exactly?

If he try wanted to prove himself and batch up his laughable claims of never ducking a real fight then it would have happened.

I'm sick of excuses and non fights. In five years time we will still be here saying the same watching him fight White for the fifth time while Wilder and Fury will probably be each other for the tenth time.

Boxing is dying and it is down to this nonsense

He’s the only boxer I can see that just seems to fight whoever and the Wilder admittance and Fury deal show he wanted them too.
Fury on the other hand has fought Chisora, Klitscho and Wilder in 8 years.
Wilder the less said the better.
Yet Joshua now taking on a cracking dangerous as feck boxer and mandatory is still getting shit, it’s mad.

Who do you want him to fight now?

Hunter might be a good fight and has genuine power unlike most of his opponents.

By the way I'm not absolving Fury and Wilder either but at least they are fighting each other and Wilder was always going to want revenge on Fury so it was laughable to make him an offer to fight AJ instead before that

Once that is out of the way there is no excuse not to make the fight but I expect the same excuses

So you want him to lose his belts which makes a unification fight with Fury not happen? Fury wouldn't be happy with that either and when the fight happens it would definitely lose some allure.

They won’t fight next AJ just signed a life long contract with Hearn and DAZN aren’t doing well so no chance they risk losing their main draw to Fury in the first fight.

So who's he supposed to fight then? Otto wallin? Tom Schwarz?

You mean the same Michael Hunter that got beaten off Usyk? Maybe you should think a bit more before you post things.

He has genuine power and should never have been a cruiserweight so that means little.

Have AJ slim down to cruiserweight and compare

Couldn't they have got someone other than Eric Wareheim to be the announcer?

And why does he repeat the surname for each boxer? Is the reverb machine broken? Annoying as feck.

It's doesn't mean little though does it? Usyk would still beat Hunter at heavyweight. I can't believe people are moaning about this fight. It's intriguing.

So fight a guy this guy he’s fighting beat? And lose his belt in doing so too, no doubt then losing any chance of Fury wanting a unification bout.

feck me.

Again let AJ fight him as a Cruiserweight if you want to compare that.

Hunter is better as a heavyweight and had the power to prove it. Usyk clearly is better as a cruiserweight and does not have the power to be a heavyweight.

I'm not saying Hunter is the greatest as he is not but he is a proper treaty and brings danger to the mix which too many of AJ's opponents do not have

I thought Micheal Hunter is more a pressure fighter than serious power no?

Clutching at straws no aren't you, just admit that you don't what your talking about and move on.

On another note Sky has got a pretty good line up with boxxer Taylor, Eubanks jr, Terrance Crawford, Lomachenko, to name a few..
