For sure and really refreshing. Enjoyed this episode!Watching this now - Irwin comes across as a real class act.

Scholes' comment when Ornstein said, "he scored 30 goals" made me chuckle. "What in 3 years?", not sure if he meant it as a joke or not, but still funny.Good to see Scholes and Carragher confront Ornstein about the Marcus Rashford PR machine today.
Neville calling Michael Oliver not only the best referee in the league but one of the best in the world
Was watching this and I thought it was an
absolutely mental take from him.
Ian Wright's point about how the fans view it was fair.
Oliver has been a terrible referee for over a decade though. His conflicts of interest are also completely disregarded by football circles.Don't think what he said was incorrect or 'crazy'. He's rated as one of the best referees - a referee who made a bad mistake at the weekend. If Haaland missed 5 open goals on the weekend, he wouldn't suddenly not be one of the best strikers in the world.
I think the way 'fans' try to criticise Neville for anything and everything so tiring.
It's not a mental take - Oliver is literally put up by the PGMOL as one of our best refs, and put forward for European/International Competitions etc.
Everyone and their nan might think he's crap - but the official line in footbal circles is that he's one of the best refs around.
Here it is then. The big one.
Most likely he's got good friends in the industryOliver has been a terrible referee for over a decade though. His conflicts of interest are also completely disregarded by football circles.
Yeah, just so happens they're billionaire owners of a football club. Most likely he's got good friends in the industry
AW had it right when he said the English refereeing standard is the worst in the top leagues. Cut them to size back when morons like Clattenburg, Webb and Dean were calling the shots, and promoting similarly pathetic boys club members like Oliver as the next big thing. It's not a mental take - Oliver is literally put up by the PGMOL as one of our best refs, and put forward for European/International Competitions etc.

What a bloody joke. Oliver is one of the worst referees in Europe. He’s corrupt as feck.
As many people have pointed out over the past years, Neville is a Sky stooge and just spouts the party line with unbridled confidence. He's a bit of a moron, in general.I was with Wright on this one. He really wanted to say so much more, but didn’t. Rooney held it back too.
I see and respect Keane’s POV, even though I don’t necessarily agree with it. If they can call out players for bad performances, why can’t they do it with refs? Obviously the death threats were overboard.
Neville however was plain annoying. Most disliked ref by many clubs. A ref should be as invisible as possible but he has the tendency of always being a topic of discussion. Awful ref.
Why is it called that?Im actually embarrassed that it took me this long to work out why the show is called “The Overlap”
Gary Neville’s show….Neville was famous for always overlapping (Beckham). Why is it called that?
