The Open 2009

I'll still be rooting for any of the irish guys allthough none of em are in it at all.

I hope Watson can keep it going for a bit more

Very surprising that was.

But good for the sport in a way. Apart from Federer in tennis and Bolt in athletics I never like when the really clear favourites win.

Tom feckin Watson??? But he was a player when I was still shitting in me nappies. Kinell.

Classic Open today, only 9 players under par for the tourney and anyone could win it. Brilliant.

Can't believe Watson is still at the top of the leaderboard, hope he wins because he is an American

He deserves his spot too, 5 time Open winner, won majors here in his youth and on the Senior tour. Annoys me when people write him off just because of his age, he's outlasted Tiger alright.

In fairness tiger has done more in his 30 years than Watson in his 59, but Watson is one of the best links player of all time easily, maybe the best. If he pulls it off tomorrow, it will be the most impressive moment of his long career, even better than beating Nick in 77

Well I'm not saying he's better than Tiger, was just having a go at the ill informed fans that were writing Watson off and are still bitter that TW isn't here on Sunday.

I like Tiger, poor showing this week though.

I love Tiger but he played like shit, that was the worst I ahve ever seen him play in all honesty I dont know what is up with him, watch him when the PGA and TPC now  I really want Watson to win as it would set a benchmark one that probably wont be broken for a long time.

Fisher's had a nightmare on this hole, will drop three maybe four if he's lucky.

Shame but it won't put him out of contention this early on so long as he doesn't let the rot continue. :(

Horrible two hole, from -5 to level par.

Chris Wood with another great Open effort.

Gutted for Fisher, got unlucky and seems to have capitulated a bit now.

Delighted for Westwood though so far. If he can hold his nerve that first elusive major could be his.

"Bristol City one of the top soccer clubs in England" -Mike Tirico

Watson is gonna win it, just birdied the 17th to take a one shot lead!!!!

Westwood with an absolutely amazing fairway bunker shot. Has a chance to go to three under and tie for the lead.

feck off ABC, there coverage has been choppy since I tuned in they better get this part right

Westwood missed the birdie putt has a tough one for Parr

Come on Tom!!!

Watson needs to get up and down from 20 feet and the rough to win his sixth British Open

Watch Watson throw this away now.

Like Casey, Garcia and Poulter he's a total bottle job.

So annoying, the English lot usually do! Fisher the same today, unlucky in parts but then let it affect his play too much afterwards.

Westwood with bogeys on 15 and 16 then missing the eagle by cm's and screwing up the last.

Cink can't believe his luck.

His putting is down to his bottle a lot though, the ones he misses and that cost him most are all like 6ft or less. He doesn't believe that he'll hole them.

Cink now one ahead with 3 holes remaining in the play off. Old man Watson has it all to do.
