The Old Firm Derby

Been a fairly entertaining game so far, as usual it looks like its only one misstimed challenge away from boiling over

Very entertaining game so far! Players are doing well in the conditions. Btw it's 1-0 to Celtic!!

would you like the poznan if it was us doing it instead of city?

I think it looks great

Nah, it looks stupid, completely stupid. It's too "Oh look at us turning around, we're so cool", "No, you look like cnuts". And it's not as if it's city's, they stole it.
The bouncing to 'I Just Cant Get Enough' (which Liverpool do) is much better.

If you're not Scottish, why the hell would you watch these two horrible teams?

Because it is a match which decides who goes top of a major European league. It is also inevitably an extremely interesting, high tempo match with a lot of hard tackling, an unbeatable atmosphere which cannot be equaled anywhere in England and usually a few decent goals.

:wenger:

If you say so ..... pile of shit in front of plastic fans.

Poor standard of football but SPL is an easy target for criticism.

Football is dictated by one thing only and that's finance, simple thing is in the grand scale of modern European football the SPL is at it's natural level in terms of the size of the country and finance generated by the league. There's little they can do about it, their drop-off since the glory days is no different (relatively) to clubs like Ajax, Benfica, Red Star Belgrade, Steaua Bucharest etc. Big clubs in small leagues can't compete and unlike the Portuguese and Dutch clubs it's not even possible for the Old Firm to box clever transfer wise because of work permits.

Overturning a 15 point gap, how have Rangers managed to feck up a divide that big?

Well, it was only 15 points for less than a day, and Celtic had two games in hand at that point...still, a monumental feckup from that lot. They looked really short of confidence all game.

Old firm fans can be a lot of things, but I think plastic is rarely one of them.

A lot of the time Celtic fans come dressed as empty green seats when they're not playing Rangers. Make of that what you will. Or maybe they're just doing "the city", you know like "the poznan" but with empty seats and with man city.

I was unimpressed with the Celtic fans when we played them at Parkhead - lots of noisy set pieces 'ooh look at me' before KO but quiet as mice when the game started in terms of supporting their team

Geez Rangers were crap, and so many stupid decisions. You're not supposed to make 500 freekicks when you're trying to come back from a goal behind. Not that they ever looked like being in a rush.

Fair point, but when it is Rangers those feelings run pretty deep, and I think that's attributable to more than just plastic fans.

It was a lot more entertaining contest than watching Man Utd put 5 past 10 men.

Not filling a 60k stadium against Dundee and Aberdeen doesn't make them plastic. Celtic have the 12th highest average attendances in the whole of Europe - ahead of Ajax, Newcastle and most of the Bundesliga sides, a league known for its great attendances.

They play St Mirren up to 7 times a season. Look how we filled our stadium against Palace.
