I won't leave Sarni out to dry on this. I feel that the way he went about reorganizing the tournament was agreed upon by the players who were active in the tournament and this thread. I feel its still the 'legit' tournament. Like we discussed at the time, one group had only played a single match.
 
With Elvis saying it's arite and with nobody else voicing any disagreement I reckon we should just keep going.

Speaking of which, we have a date, Falcão... when do you fancy playing?

Hoffenheim (Eriku) v Lille (MarceloFalcon): 3-2

Started with me giving away an early goal thanks to feckwittery between my two centre halves, I scored two corners to make it 2-1 before Marcelo managed to head an equaliser in the 90 min... Nervy added time ensued, with me nabbing the winner at the 111th minute.

I was enjoying less of the possession, 60-40, but managed the about the same number of finishes, 4 on target, 8 total, with him having 7 attempts, 5 of which were on goal... I feel a tad lucky, seeing as you generally ran play with me trying to hit you on the break. Sry :S

Eriku (Hoffenheim) 3 - 2 MarceloFalcon (Lille)

Oh man, I did not deserve to lose like that.... I was behind until the 90th minute and found a goal to take it to ET. Then got countered in ET, my defender passed the ball too short to my GK, and Eriku was clear on the goalie, 2 on 1.

EDIT: Well played Eriku, you didn't allow me many chances, and I couldn't get Hazard into the game like I usually do, all down to your defending.
 
Eriku and 20le_Solskjaer already in quarter-finals it seems.

Harsh, indeed... Was always going to be a regrettable defeat, no matter who got it in the end... Was damn sure I'd gifted you the equaliser in the second half when I triggered the offside trap and my keeper had to juggle two of your strikers.

I usually pride myself in inventive attacking play but against some of the better lads on the Caf I have to soak it up and counter. On another day you'd take the win there.

In the practice game's we've played you've always hit me on the counter!
 
Good game Ole, really tight as we seem to play almost exactly the same way. Sometimes it seemed like there were about 14 men on your team you were swarming round me! Not many chances made by either of us but i was gutted when my guy hit the post near the end. I concede the majority of my goals on the counter as well, seems to be the weakness in our playing style.

Have to play again sometime.

bleh, 2 terrible games... well played Xander, I was terrible... one of those performances where everything just goes wrong, take a throw in and throw it to your guy and he runs it out of play, pass the ball and they pass it to noone, your corners kept coming in and rather than head the ball away they just chested it down for you to hit, everything was super slow, 2 or 3 times I was running down the wing and I dummied it back, only your player I had pulled it back past recovered and got to the ball first... felt like they just wouldn't run.

Pretty shocking from me there. :lol: Deserved to lose both. Almost broke my tv in frustration when you know what buttons do but the players don't do it. I threw the ball to my full back and rather than latch onto it he stood there and my player switched to my centre midfielder who then ran all the way back to try and get it, I was just thinking wtf.
 
This is ridiculous, me and Zarlak can't get this game going. I was playing some guy in a friendly just before I got your invite, why can't we play each other?

I felt a bit unlucky, hit the bar, fizzed it just past the post a few times, had more shots on target and your keeper pulled off some good saves but I was an idiot and gave away a penalty and got run rings around my defenders. Got the stingiest call ever for offside from just inside the half. I'm terrible at defending though and showed it again. GG mate, shame it took 90 attempts before it finally let us in, I wonder what is causing it.

Heffo 3-1 Zarlak

Good game mate. I got an early goal after about 10 mins following a sustained period of pressure. Match was even enough for the rest of the half. Zarlak utterly dominated for the first 20 in the second, missing a hatfull of chances. But as football often goes I caught him on the break and got an undeserved second, swiftly followed by a 3rd. His well deserved consolation came in the dying minutes of the game. Very tough match and on another day could easily have been Zarlak through.

Don't know why it took so long for the match to go ahead, I've played two people from the Caf no problem, but had major problems playing you and Eriku.

:lol: I wish it was that easy all the time! I got in against Vuc first time and Xander twice in a row as well straight away. EA servers are a bag of wank.

It's a shame I can't defend. So many times my player runs to the guy who has the ball, then wham runs right past him and as he turns, the other player is away. Pisses me off that I can't do it.

Defending is my Achilles heel as well. Doesn't help that the defenders are generally the weakest players on the four star teams.

Only way I'll ever take any of you lot, I can't keep up concentration against people as good as you in pressuring. It's like beating Barca, keep it solid defensively and counter.

I hope people start getting their games off and the next round commences soonish... Though I won't mind so long as it doesn't take as long as the group stage debacle did ;P
