In fairness though, they've all said why they've not been able to make it, as opposed to just not showing up.

Last 16 will start on Tuesday, probably.

Next year we should all put a tenner into a pot (literally) and play for that. 32 teams, £320, winner takes all. Or split it 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Could be fun.

I agree it's top's fault.

SirGiggsy is an irl mate of mine so if you me to hound him then let me know.

I'd be up for that, people would be more inclined to play if there was money on it.

Well, really!

What about 20le_Solskjaer who accepted my friend request, is online all day but wouldn't reply to not a single one of my messages on PSN thus rendering me desperate and needy, and causing me tremendous pain and grief.

Or SirGiggsy, who had the cheek to not even accept my friend request inspite of my clearly mentioning RedCafe FIFA Tournament in the req.
 
If anybody drops out leaving an uneven number of teams can I be a replacement?

I'm fairly sure i've finished bottom in my group but i'm able to get the games played - and it's that bit more interesting than playing some randomer online

Nope, all 16 teams will be drawn at random. No seeds! I have seeds, but I don't think you would want them.

Anybody drops out whoever finished second from bottom will be given a chance, then if they fail to show the person who finished bottom can.

Same here regarding Solskjaer. We started a game once in fact, but when the game started his players didn't move at all, so I thought he went afk. I then got a message from him saying that his controller broke down, and since then he's been online playing MW2 everytime I've checked, but hasn't responded to any messages I've sent him.

Today's post here was the first I heard from Stobzilla and as far as I know SirGiggsy hasn't accepted my friend request yet.
 
Elvis i have already played donut and lost 4-3 its post number 212. Only reason i mention is that it hasn't been updated on the op. I've only got xander and top to play and can play them at any time today just let us know.

Well Nooshka, I was planning on just staying away today and thus securing my place in the knock-outs, but seeing as I'm super-cool, we might as well have our game now.

I warn you though, my suckiness will blow you away.

Edit: Dips on Fenerbahce. I'm going to blame Sunderland's defense on my short-coming in this tournament.
 
So the deadline's been extended then?

Also, make the knockouts two-legged ties, away goals and all that - it'd spice it up a bit.

The only thing with making it two legged is getting it to extra time and penalties if need be. For example say if you win the first leg 2-1, the other players wins the 2nd leg 2-1, how do we get it to go to ET and pens?

And yes, deadline is tonight at 10pm.

Fair point. How about in that case we go to a playoff game to decide the tie or just make it a best-of-three to begin with? My only gripe with one off games is that they often prove to be too fecking random

Play-off or best of 3 sounds good. Will decide when I've made the draw which'll be some time tomorrow.

It was a crap game, so the presure is on me i'll take dips on fenebache as well then as i can't seem to find a better team than that with four stars.
