The next Liverpool manager | Arne Slot Liverpool's Báld Fraud

They’re heading for Europa League level in a few years. Salah and Van Dijk will leave and Slot may not ‘slot’ in that easily from Eredivisie.

They should be pushing Salah out, and TAA and Allison should be pushing for moves, especially TAA with one year left in his deal, they’re a bit fecked

Slot's football is too naive for the PL good luck to them. Ten Hag 2.0

I know given what happened to us post Fergie we could be accused of wishful thinking that Liverpool are going to crash and burn post Klopp, but they are actually going to crash and burn, and it'll be very nice to watch.

Can we all agree now that Slot-shaming is completely unacceptable and should not be tolerated on this or any other internet forum?

Looks like its happening.

It does indeed. That’s going to be an interesting one

Also I don’t want to suggest he’s not a good manager, he likely is, but I’d say his appointment gives an indication on how there are a lack of top class managers available this summer

I thought Tuchel would go there. I wonder why it wasn’t pursued

I think the club wanted someone who might be able to punch above his weight. Alonso, Amorim & Slot were the three most seriously linked managers, and all three have done that to some extent in their respective leagues.

I would've been ok with Tuchel tbh.

You're right though, there aren't many good options out there. Makes me think United might stick with ETH for another year.

Kop swaps Slot for shot Klopp!

I’m genuinely looking forward to this. This guy will have them getting turned inside out by relegation fodder in no time.

Everyone who bad mouthes Slot is going on the list.

As I'm now a scouser, I'm off to shag my, uhm sister? Or is it livestock?

Aldi Ten Hag. Good coach but he talks too much.

Or we can call him Aldi Pep.

Because he is a tosser who always ends up in a fight with the owners in less than 2-3 years.

I know the comparisons with Ferguson leaving United and Klopp leaving Liverpool have already been made but I remember when it became clear Ferguson was leaving, myself and many other reds (including proper match going fans, not just once/twice a year matchgoers like me) said that the only man at that time who could take on that job, maintain the respect of the world class players and keep United successful for a couple of years was Jose Mourinho. I still believe that today. Moyes always seemed like a deer in headlights. Players like Rio have said recently that they’d have liked Mourinho to come in in 2013.

The comparison is that I feel Tuchel was your Mourinho. The man out there who could come in and keep your experienced successful players starstruck and motivated at Liverpool. His trophy cabinet is similar to Klopps and he’s managed world class players. Slot might hit it off, but if he doesn’t get immediate results I feel you’ll start getting similar to us with Moyes where players stop listening to him because they’re more successful than him and don’t appreciate being told to do things differently at their club where they’ve already been successful.

Why do you think Liverpool went for a manager to punch above? My best guess from the outside looking in is that Edwards wants to work with someone he thinks he can trust and have a good long-term working relationship with?

Excuse the long post. Liverpool is a club I can actually talk about happily, as opposed to city where I just don’t care about them

That’s the biggest concern with him yes.

As I said to Klopper in my long post though, I fancy a manager like him coming in after a successful one like Klopp leaves. I still think your top and most influential players (van Dijk, Salah..) would be enthusiastic about working with him and would be open to his different methods. Whereas if a manager like Slot comes in and doesn’t impress those players, it can turn quite sour and they question him more because they’ve won more than him

I’d have liked Mourinho after Ferguson even if it had lasted just 2 seasons because I think he’d have won us another title before the likes of Ferdinand, Evra and van Persie left. Moyes was never respected and never got a hold of the dressing room. I think Tuchel would keep you competitive for a bit longer and squeeze the last drops from Salah, van Dijk and co

Hell of a risky move to go for a Dutch manager after Klopp, given what we've seen over the past decade from Dutch managers joining other leagues.

Wait, do I need to request a name change to Slotter? Or Slopper?

Journalist Gary Cotterill grabbed a moment with Slot after he exited Feyenoord's team bus ahead of their Eredivisie match with Go Ahead Eagles on Thursday night, but he had to be wary of getting too close. A member of Slot's entourage had his hand on his shoulder and eventually put himself between Cotterill and the Dutchman, cutting short their chat.

This guy is such a prick.

doesn’t bode well for liverpool. already thinks he’s hit the big time with his own security detail. and he hasn’t realised his suitcase has wheels. if he’s missing things like that, what will be miss at liverpool?

I hope their bold fraud isn't better than our bold fraud :(

To be fair, Cotterill must hold some sort of record when it comes to restraining orders by now. Any inside on this?

This is so depressing. It's like we want to turn into Manchester Utd.

Well probably give it to Ole, I mean Stevie, after Slot.
