Assuming Trump doesn't run and Cruz and Hawley don't recover from the Jan 6th stuff, DeSantis would have to be the frontrunner. If he chose someone like Noem as running mate, he could be competitive.
He totally checks off a lot of boxes, no doubt. Just don’t think he has the political endurance to last two & a half years in the limelight. Too much of a loose cannon for the national spotlight. If he corrals the small man syndrome & gets some effective handlers, then it’s a different ballgame.
Best thing that could happen is for Trump to either run (and lose again) or push his son or daughter (perhaps dual ticket with one as VP) and go to war against the likes of DeSantis et al. Would siphon votes from either side I suppose. DeSantis has a growing fandom in Florida, some of the conservatives I know love the guy cause he owns libs and talks back to the media. Apparently, that's a desirable trait for a politician.
I'm just waiting for Bobags and Margarine to come out and say Biden is a robot.
I hope that check was a big one. I am a pretty frequent traveler for work (in non-COVID times) and just delisted Hyatt as an option. All my colleagues are doing the same. Our company spends millions a year on travel in non-COVID times. Host shit get boycotted.

Gotten worse since Obama's first election in my experience. But it's probably been going downhill since the days of Goldwater, LBJ, Civil Rights, etc. Then took another step under Reagan's dog whistling and scandalous presidency, then took two steps up with Gingrich in the 90s. Each generation of conservatives seemingly trying to outdo the prior sets.
