Old Trafford certainly let Pogba and Mourinho know what they felt about them tonight.

Very differing reactions.

Mourinho very positive, Pogba very mixed.

The fans have spoken.
Baghdad Bob is back.

So I agree with progressive football, but McKenna/Carrick present their own risks. They are both not proven enough to handle a top 4 race. Heck they've never managed a top league club.

Jardim looks to be off to another club.

Zidane doesn't want to join.

I said after Palace we may as well sack Jose and get Jardim in as caretaker with the chance to have the job full time beyond. But I think Jardim isn't available now.

We are not in a top 4 race.
We have unseated our rider at the 5th fecking fence.
Only problem is that our owner hasn’t noticed yet........

Great! Now we can give Jose another contract extension and 500m more to spend, and everything will be grand.

If Pogba received mixed reactions from the fans then they have not really spoken anything about him at all :smirk:

All I got from today's game was 11 players who really were playing for the club and fans, individually. There was no shape or plan (defensively or attacking). It really makes you wonder what Jose does be at in training.

He's completely out dated. He will never succeed again at a top club.

Looking at the poll:
Is there anyone on here that wants 'Mourinho to stay', willing to explain why?

Genuinely curious!

I've discussed Sevilla's interview with you.

I'd prefer any manager to take Woodward on rather than be OK with blue sky thinking (a la LVG who thought he had Mueller or Moyes who claimed he was meant to get Bale and it didn't happen). Woodward has no place trying to suggest one player over another for footballing reasons so I'm glad he's getting called out on it. I think other managers would likely do the same, or not sign for us unless we had a proper structure in place. Just look at City, they brought Tixi in just so Pep would be easier to negotiate with.

Can you give me some examples of "trashing club legends"? I would be happy to comment on some examples.

I've done my best to ignore you Jose apologists for a while but then I see some absolutely stupid posts that make me wonder what is really wrong with you people, like are you OK? LVG should have 'called out' Woody for not getting Mueller after signing 13 players 10 of which were average/shit. Moyes should have called out Woody for not getting Bale(ffs). Woody is suggesting players over others...can you explain this crap with respect to Moyes and LVG? What is this nonsense exactly? So what's Jose 'calling out' Woody for? Not getting Maguire? I get it you worship the guy but when you're going all out typing one of these defenses of yours think about it for a bit if what you're typing makes any fecking sense. You sound like a smart bloke

Reading your post I can remember why I asked you to stop quoting me - you seem to really argue in circles with other players evidently because you either fail to see, or refuse to see their actual point.

I did some digging on Mourinho trashing Scholes. I found this from the Guardian in January, is this what you mean?

“Paul [Pogba] tries to do his best all the time. Sometimes he plays very well, sometimes he plays well, sometimes he doesn’t play so well. It’s not Paul’s fault that he has made much more money than Paul Scholes. It’s not Paul Scholes’ fault either, it’s just the way football is. I think Scholes will be in history as a phenomenal player, not as a pundit. I prefer to look at him as a phenomenal player that gave so much to the club that I am proud to represent.

“If Paul one day decides to be a manager, I wish that he can be 25% as successful as myself. 50% of that is 12.5 silverware, 25% is around 6. If he’s 25%, he’ll be quite happy. In my mind Paul Scholes is a phenomenal player, one of the best I’ve ever seen playing in midfield. He gave so much to my club that I can only thank him for that. The prestige of this club is based on people like him.”

^^ So he basically said Paul earns more than Scholes. It's not Scholes' fault, that's how football is. He used the word phenominal to describe Scholes 3 times and then said the club is built on players like him.

Woah you're right. He needs to stop trashing on legends, man.

Yes, I think Pogba was one of Jose's biggest mistakes.

I made a thread when/before Pogba signed to question whether the 90m could be better spent given we had so many holes in the squad. It was a big concentration risk and it's flopped.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...cuses-paul-scholes-jealous-paul-pogbas-money/

He did actually say that Scholes was jealous of the money Pogba earns, yes, that actually happened.
We all know Scholsey was the typical money driven big time Charlie of course.

It's just yet another example of the absolute jibberish Jose comes out with, tbh I could give a 1000 examples of this but what's the point?
I give up until he goes, it's just getting boring now.
As for the fans who have let themselves be brainwashed by him into thinking its everyone else's fault, again, I give up.

I still back Mourinho because that's now been three very different managerd who have all encountered difficulty in managing the club. This suggests to me the problem is elsewhere.

Also we did well in his first two seasons so he deserves a down year.

Ineeed. It's disappointing how readily they lap up Mourinho's deflection tactics.

Its a statement to the state of our club that Mourinho is still a manager of Manchester United.

How long will the board allow this to go on?
His setup going after that winning goal was a huge lump of feces at our doorstep.
Is Ed in Asia working on a instant soup deal?

Enough is enough and has been for a good while now.

It’s not good enough and he is full of excuses. Woodward needs to sack him.

Imagine Real Madrid or Barcelona fans thinking that . Manchester United are a huge club ffs

a) we were ok in his first seasons - £300m+ spent, and haven't challenged yet for big trophy 3 seasons in!
b) klopp, emery, sari, pep...have all shown that you don't need that long to get your team to play to their max potential

Tbf to Jose even if we lost today I wouldn't have slated him for it. That was our best performance in a very long time and we were let down by individual errors. The one thing I got out of this game is that, for all shit Jose and his apologists have given our defenders, Arsenal defenders are individually and collectively 10x worse(shit keeper to boot). Not that I ever bought it, but this idea Jose and his cultists have been pushing that we are where we are because we have this fantastically shit defense is total horseshit.

It's poster like him that annoy me more than Mourinho himself and make me want to bash my head into concrete or something. I mean there is no stopping some people in their worships but then there are some who've just blazed way past the point of worshipping and just doing something else.

The past weeks I've been wishing for the forum to be split in 2 and keep each side on their own. Those for Mourinho with their own forum and those against with theirs. I know it's silly but by God it'll help me go through some threads without feeling the need to bash my head.

The worship just annoys me to no end especially given the fact that Mourinho has literally done NOTHING to warrant such blind faith and cult like following from anyone supporting Man United.

Wow dude you're spoiled. Nothing? He helped the great Manchester United achieve SECOND last year and also he stands up for us against the ABU media! His press conferences! Says it how it is! I just can't wait till he's sacked and we have a normal manger

You know, when Mourinho was having a meltdown at Madrid and picking fights with everyone, Ramos and Casillas apparently went to FloPer and said " Presi, either he goes or we are leaving". I implore Pogba and De Gea to go to Woodward and do the same. Any other suggestions?

I am also beginning to think Woodward is a closet scouser, sent by the dippers to destroy our club.

Also, after the shite that is being served week in and week out, seeing that 25.6% still see this man as fit to be the manager of Man Utd is making my blood boil. Either some of our fans are living in an alternate universe or it is just opposition fans taking the p*ss.

It's like we're cursed. Can't win a match, can't play football, and yet can't do badly enough to get rid of this toxic shitbag. The shitshow rolls on.
I had a feeling we wouldn't lose today. Hes not finished tormenting us just yet. Everytime you think he's on the brink he pulls something out of the bag to get the stay of execution. just like Wenger used to .

Jose turning the crowd against Pogba is great news for the club. Woodward might be a moron but he knows out of Pogba and Jose who is replaceable. Hopefully the thick match going fans continue their booing of Pogba. That would ensure Jose's dismissal before Top 4 is mathematically impossible. Woodword is not going to risk getting Pogba upset.

That 25.6% is extremely thick or deluded. Just look at the match going fans. How much of an idiot do you have to be to boo a world class player because a has been manager is telling you to do it.

You see I disagree that Mourinho is a whole lot different to LVG. The Caf used to moan like crazy about Van Gaal's negative approach, all the bus parking, low goal scoring and back passing: whilst calling for Mourinho.

I never understood the desire to being in Jose from those that were bored of Louis' defensive approach. I always saw him as more of the same (LVG was Jose's mentor at Barcelona after all)

I agree that Jose did well to finish second and win the EL, but the style of football has turned a lot of people off of enjoying the games.

 Now we have to thank our noisy neighbor that they are so good. Otherwise Liverpool might run away with the League, while we're solidifying our position at 7th/8th.

We were lucky with Slippy G, now with the City. I don't know how many times more we may get lucky.

But hey.. at least we win the "support your manager" trophy.

The problem lies with the idiot appointing the manager. That much is obvious. Doesn't mean Mourinho will ever be the right man for us regardless.

We've hired three managers completely at odds with the free-flowing attacking football we used to play under SAF. It's gone tits up every time. We need a guy with some sand to come in and coach these players to get at the opposition. I truly believe we have good players, but they're playing in the wrong system. Lukaku has 14 in 14 for Belgium this year. Pogba was instrumental for France when they won the World Cup. Rashford and Lingard have five goals between them fot England since the start of the season. Martial even somehow manages to function in this fecking joke of a team, so there's obviously talent there. There just appears to be a complete lack of ideas when it comes to the attacking coaching at this club. Our players look like a group of complete strangers, and less in tune with each other than they do with their team mates in their national teams, that they train with an play with once every month or two. Tells you all you need to know.

We've been a performance vacuum for years now. Players come here and get space jammed all the time. There's either something in the water at Carrington or our manager has no idea how to get his players to actually play.

Don't really care what others say about it - but ultimately it's no surprise that we have had better attacking performances after finally playing 352.

It's the formation for players like Rashford & Martial.

This is the formation that would have been put if LVG had stayed for another year - & whilst that was never going to happen because of alpt of fans desire for a manager like Jose - any manager could have looked at our squad & realised that the 352 was the next step forward.

End of LVG's 2nd season - Rashford had just broken through playing as a striker whilst martial was playing as a makeshift LW & the same with Lingard on the right.

The next season would not be the same formation because Lingard is never a RW, neither is martial & pairing martial & Rashford upfront is the most logical step. Memphis would have had a chance to be a striker for us too.

When it comes to 3 at the back - I still think a player like Blind is underrated & alpt of his deficiencies that people exaggerated would be covered by playing 3 at the back anyway.

Jose was not interested in any of this - went straight for his target man and moved martial & Rashford permanently to the wings. The only thing he got particularly right was Lingard at AM instead of RW the previous season & that showed with his great form that people were surprised about. This was always going to happen in the 352 - turning Lingard from the RW to a CAM.

Then there is our friendly's in the summer - Jose plays eveyy single friendly with a 352 - players like pereira & Fred do especially well; only for him change the whole thing back to his traditional 4231.

LVG fans said it from the start - the moment this United team focus on building on the 352 that gets the best out of most of our important players we can then focus on buying wingbacks instead of a RW, buying tertiary CB to play inbetween 2 CB, buy a player that can make Rashford & Martial interlink more such as a creator.

Jose is playing 352 because he has given up on his tactics & that has made him frustrated - now doing something that resembles more of a formation that fits the squad.

It's not just Mourinho's fault. We are stuck with the same shitty defenders that should have been sold in the summer. What would Jardim and Zidane achieve with this squad? We have more chance of fluking the Champions League with a Mourinho masterclass in bus-parking.

Even that he seems to have lost

For someone traditionally known for strong defences, we've been awful at the back and are in the bottom 5 in goals conceded so far in the league and we'd be even lower without some DDG heroics on occasion.

We're behind many lower-midtable teams who have spent less than a fraction on defence as we have

Mourinho is now implying 3 draws and a loss to City (because everyone loses to City) some sort of achievement. Basically, he's put us in a position where we are competing against teams such as Bournemouth, Watford, Leicester and Brighton.

Even more ridiculous is that there are some proper sheep that have lapped it up.

Relax. He will be gone before the end of the season, not soon enough though. Mourinho knows it(But unsure himself if he can get a really big payout or only a big payout), the players know it, the journalists know it(Afraid to write about it as they fear not getting access to the club), Woodward knows it...

What we don't know and which is far more important for our future is what happens with the DoF appointment.

I understand where you're coming from on this. We had our moments but even still we created nothing tbh, Arsenal were a better team and had few clear cut chances to score. We did concede from individual errors, but then again we scored after individual errors as well, Herrera offside and that other blunder.

I feel like I need to change my username. Even by mistake, I don't want to be associated with a sickening Mourinho apologist like @VP89

How the feck am I a Mourinho apologist? I've said he should be sacked for not getting Champions League football.

Feck sake read my posts or feck off from quoting me or mentioning me.

Not saying we were great, especially in defence we were just a lot less shite than usual. We went toe to toe with them for most of the game. We just looked a lot better than what I usually expect from us these days

Unbelievable really.

They boo Pogba, taking Mourinho's side, and yet they're the ones chanting "attack, attack, attack."

Unbelievable.

I get the Jose hate, I want him gone too, but seriously? Firstly if Mourinho can convince you to boo a player then you’re just a muppet. Secondly, did it occur to you that people boo Pogba because he plays like shit and clearly displays a lack of effort and commitment? You do realise that having a view on Pogba and Mourinho are two relatively independent and mutually exclusive things, right?
