Much as it might not make us any better please let him leave, he's really destroying my love for the game atm.
That's what great management is all about us.
I did. Creating chances was an issue but his idea of how football should be played was the right one. We played a high line, dominated the ball and kept possession generally well. That’s with a significantly weaker first team than we do now. Van Gaal had his issues but his team wasn’t being outplayed by Brighton and West Ham.
The thing that gets me is when people on here think I'm shocked we're not winning games or that Mourinho isn't turning it around.
I said before a ball was kicked we'd have a terrible season. I thought that because of the squad/ board involvement/lack of signings.
We got by on a whim last season, was never going to happen again.
You say that as if we still aren’t mind numbingly dull...?We were mind numbingly dull under LVG, people are really desperate for wishing for those days to return.
You say that as if we still aren’t mind numbingly dull...?
This is just nonsensical.Just like Mourinho, LVG too was let down by Woodward in the market. Had Van Gaal got his first choice targets, we would be up there competing with City and kept Liverpool remain in our shadows. Van Gaal was sacked in similar circumstances like this summer.
I feel like anyone saying this is doing so with a selective memory. I'd agree with you on 14-15 but we were genuinely dire throughout most of 15-16, barely outscoring some teams at the bottom end of the table.
Neither. My take on LVG vs Jose:
LVG had a shit attacking plan which involved keeping the ball without actually creating anything. And he managed to coach the players well in that shit way.
Jose has no attacking plan.
Would you rather have a shite plan or no plan?
You're misinterpreting criticism of your sanctimonious and pretentious thread and subsequent behaviour for criticism of you criticising Jose.
I don’t know if this is sarcasm or not, but if anything Woodward was let down by Van Gaal in the transfer market, I can’t think of a worse waste of money done by any manager than Van Gaal. He bought shite.Just like Mourinho, LVG too was let down by Woodward in the market. Had Van Gaal got his first choice targets, we would be up there competing with City and kept Liverpool remain in our shadows. Van Gaal was sacked in similar circumstances like this summer.
Or you could have pep / Klopp / Poch etc who have both. we just need to grab the next best coach. We got sucked in by Jose but he’s blagged us all.My take on LVG vs Jose:

We're Manchester United.Neither.
We are Manchester United.
We don't have to accept either of that.
The team isn’t good enough, that can be changed in January. It’s absolutely obvious. Do I want to sack Mourinho? Yes and no. What manager can come in and do better than him during the season? I see absolutely no candidates in the market. Sacking Mourinho would be incredibly expensive. So no, he’s too expensive to get rid of and there is a shortage of good managers. What sucks for us is that Real Madrid and FC Bayern need new managers as well.
You say that as if we still aren’t mind numbingly dull...?
You don't think the manager is part of the problem? We're Manchester United.
But The Glazers and Ed Woodward make our footballing decisions.
They are making decisions on our behalf. You have to accept what they choose. Everything in the last 6 years is on them.
Hence why they should all be hounded at every opportunity. But people are more arsed talking about the coach all the time.

Only person who let LvG down was himself, his conservative football and persistence with Rooney cost us the points which caused us to miss out on CL football. He never really gave us any indication that we'd be challenging, even if we had signed his first choice targets, who by all accounts were unrealistic to begin with, weren't there reports of a near £100m bid for Thomas Mueller at one point?Just like Mourinho, LVG too was let down by Woodward in the market. Had Van Gaal got his first choice targets, we would be up there competing with City and kept Liverpool remain in our shadows. Van Gaal was sacked in similar circumstances like this summer.
Van Gaal was crap but lets not pretend he had loads of good players at his disposal either. He didn't. No manager since Fergie has or will for a long time whilst Woodward, Glazers are running the show.Only person who let LvG down was himself, his conservative football and persistence with Rooney cost us the points which caused us to miss out on CL football. Considering how bad Mueller is now, we dodged a bullet big time.Only person who let LvG down was himself, his conservative football and persistence with Rooney cost us the points which caused us to miss out on CL football. The football was worse under LVG, by and large. Hard to imagine but I'm pretty sure I'm remembering that right. My take on LVG vs Jose:
LVG had a shit attacking plan which involved keeping the ball without actually creating anything. And he managed to coach the players well in that shit way.
Jose has no attacking plan.

Tactics, team selection etc is down to the manager. You don't think the manager is part of the problem?
A friend at the game said the fans have started turning on him.
Of course not. Bloody hellThis isn't serious, right?
But Jose also had similar problems at his last two clubs. We all remember his stint at Chelsea. But his last 6 months at Madrid were a sight to behold too.Tactics, team selection etc is down to the manager.
In terms of the main virus at the club that has rotted the club in the last 6 years, he's not part of the problem very much at all. Neither was Van Gaal or Moyes.
If we added a Pogba to that team it would of made a huge difference. The football was worse under LVG, by and large. Hard to imagine but I'm pretty sure I'm remembering that right.
