I was in the same situation, ended up with Cavani though because I think he can cause more damage as a lone striker in a counter attacking side.

Every second thread on the football forum is about Kompany either talking shite or being shite it seems, hmm.
 
Hummels looked clueless for Juve's 2nd as well :lol: . They're doing their best to prove that this generation of centerbacks is pretty shit.
 
My write up will be something along the lines of "Kompany is one of the least shite defenders available".

Bit weird to phrase things like that. It all depends on what's been picked before. If he wanted to pick a MC and the thinks Wilshere is the best option for him of those left, it's not an early pick.

Peak form is what counts, Kompany's peak form has never been against great teams.. he has never featured in a CL final, semi final or even at the latter end of international tournaments. Same can't be said for Hummels at his peak.

Delighted to get Barzagli in particular. He's at least as good as Chiellini imo, and most Juve fans seem to think likewise. Verratti is a bit of a gamble given his inexperience, but he's impressed me massively when I've seen him play and he's technically good enough to keep up with Xavi.
 
I don't agree with this bullying of Ribéry. He deserves his diacritical marks, same as everyone else.

As do Modrić and Vidić, incidentally.

Yeah, was a bit unsure on reaction to Verratti. The next Pirlo is quite a tag to live up to. Will be interesting to read match comments on him.

The thinking behind Wilshere was that I wanted a proper box-to-box midfielder who was good on the ball. Of all the options left he seemed the most proven plus he's left footed and fulfills the post 1990 criteria.

I don't think there will be too many people doubting Verratti, he's great. Barzagli, on the other hand, is a bit crap.
 
There were a couple of better options than Wilshere, but most of them are Spaniards and he already has two of them.
