Cody's game is too one dimensional....a bit like Rumble Johnson was. There's not much left once you neutralize his punching.

Unbelievable speed and ways to hurt you but his chin has to be questioned now i think.

Yep. The media was going crazy on how this was the highest level MMA fight ever. bullshit... Cody is not a complete MMA fighter.

Cody vs Lineker next would be fun.

TJ vs one of Cejudo/Moraes/Cruz next. All exciting fights. If i were TJ, i would try to avoid Moraes though.

There was like a weird sequence where Cody takes the same shot 3 times and the 3rd one put him down. Maybe dazed but you would think even then your natural reaction should be “Danger Cody, Danger” move away. What’s with Cub getting dropped with a jab, didn’t seem to be moving in or off balance, will have to see it again.

Kinda glad Cejudo won, could have gone either way really, seemed weird, never liked wrestling wins like that, he took him down a good few times but didn’t really do any damage, just held him. It’s still dominance but they really need to have a look at how judges score these fights.

I'm a huge fan of Garbrandt, the way he jumps in recklessly is one of the main reasons he is so exciting to watch. But he should probably change that strategy if he ever faces Dllashaw again.

Agreed, but his overall performance against Cruz was one of the best I've ever seen. I think Dillashaw gets into his head and screws up his mind.

Like DJ a lot but it's good for the division that he lost.

Plus in a weird way beating Cejudo in a third fight and reclaiming the title might be better for his reputation and legacy than simply snuffing out another challenger.

Cody made the exact same mistake as he did in the first fight, way too wild in the exchanges. And props to Henry Cejudo that was an incredible performance! I can't wait for that the inevitable third fight, going to be interesting to watch DJ chase the belt for once.

Well, that was a surprise. Didnt expect DJ to lose a decision. Cejudo has improved so much these two years and the division has a new champion. Most probably he will fight the rematch or the TJ fight. He's also only 25-26? Which means he will improve even more. Not many people can say that they are a gold medal winning wrestler and an UFC champion. Quite a legacy he is building now.

Cody, again to sloppy and emotional. Tough loss again but considering his age he will surely rebound but he has to change his style a bit and be a bit more cautious as he was against Cruz.

Overall decent card with the surprise in the end.

Its impossible to have a perfect record in mma. DJ himself said that the greatest like Anderson silva and GSP all had to overcome adversity and that is a true testament of their skills.

Who, Cejudo? He's 31, which isn't old or anything but still. DJ should've jumped on him early when his ankle was playing up but he almost seemed to allow him time to recover.

Right, for some reason i thought he was younger. I agree, when he did the chicken dance it looked like a quick night for DJ but credits to Cejudo who managed to turn the tables especially with the take downs.

DJ reckons he tore his ACL and broke his foot during the fight.
Had to be late on, his movement was still elite level for the majority of the fight.
I think MM took a few more risks to get people excited for the TJ fight and it cost him an early round he might have otherwise won.

Looked like Cody wasn't happy with the stoppage, would be nice to hear his opinion on it in post fight presser.
Was perfect stoppage, in my opinion.

All he needs to do is watch it again. He was hardly defending himself after that knee. TJ could have done some real damage. The ref saved him.

2nd time he's been pissed about the stoppage. Maybe next time don't get rocked and TKO'd and he wont feel aggrieved about the fight getting stopped.

I don't know how anyone could be unhappy with that stoppage. If the fight carried on TD would have put him to sleep. You get rocked like that and there's no coming back against an elite fighter at the stage when the fight was stopped.

Yeah agreed. I think it’s a toughness thing so he looks like not quitting but I reality it was a fine stoppage. Delighted for TJ, Cruz was right about alpha male they are to ignorant to learn from mistakes and it’ll cos them, tj made right call moving gyms.

Not massively into Cejudo vs TJ, sick of champs moving up divisions etc it’s boring now really.

Delighted for TJ. I don't understand all the abuse he seems to get. Why anyone would shout for Cody amazes me. He comes across as a complete dickhead.

Would be a joke if DJ didn't get.the immediate rematch, but I can see Dana screwing him over unfortunately.

He's injured though so he probably can't get it. He does deserve it.

The superfight was going to be Mighty Mouse against TJ. Cerudo against TJ just isn't the same.

Man that was a fecking robbery. MM won that shit.

They did him just like TJ vs Cruz.

That was anything but robbery. You could make a case for either fighter as it was very close. It seemed like it was 2-2 going into the final round. I think Cerudo won that final round.

Definitely not robbery.

Agree. Faber etc did their best to try and ruin his name with the selling out the team stuff but there seems to be 2 sides to the story. Equally if his coach left and he was comfortable with Ludwig what's the problem with him leaving? It's clearly worked for him cos he's probably the best fighter in the world at the moment.

TAM were helped by the fact McGregor brought it up and therefore his following jumped on TJ as well. TAM just seems like some weird clique now where it's almost become a cult.

Cody hasn't learnt a thing from the last fight and that looks awful for the camp as a whole. Cody could probably benefit from moving camps funnily enough but he won't. He's in a shit position now as well cos he can't get another title shot whilst TJ is champ as there's no interest in it really it's similar to Wonderboy at WW whilst Woodley is champ. Cody will probably have to clear out the division and the way he fights at the moment I don'[t think he has the ability to do it really...bare in mind he didn't exactly beat any elite fighters before Cruz, TJ has beat Barao twice, Assuncao, Lineker and Cody twice.

He's injured though so he probably can't get it. He does deserve it.

me.

Agreed again, I don't think there's huge interest in Cejudo vs. TJ really. It was the DJ vs TJ fight that was the one. I imagine DJ is kicking himself a bit this morning cos he's probably lost out on that fight and it would of been decent money for him. There's a few options for TJ, I imagine he'd be tempted to take the Cruz rematch if it was offered and cement his legacy as the best batamweight ever.

Funny thing about Cody being so annoyed at TJ leaving TAM is that I'm sure he left his old camp, ran by his family to join TAM in the first place... If I'm not mistaken?

Plus he just joined around the time TJ left. Not sure why he's so butt hurt about it.

Look at Chad Mendes, he was close friends with TJ and still is.

I saw Cody saying something along the lines of almost getting fired from the UFC because of this. In The TUF house when Connor is telling them all that TJ is a snake, Cody stands up for him and being Cody goes at Connor “trying to defend” the honour of his team mate.
He supposedly almost got fired for this and this is why he dislikes TJ or something along those lines.

Agreed, watched it thinking "Please don't stop yet...not yet...not yet...ok now he's fecked"

I think most sane MMA viewers would like to see Cody being slapped about for a couple minutes more, but.... I guess that's not how the rules work :)
