Even Stipe? Not sure Francis has a fight either

Francis isn't fit, and he's waiting out his contract 'til December when he believes he'll be free to box Fury.

My guess is he'll fight Stipe on the MSG card in November.

Any thoughts on the Egger 'tap out' in the prelims against Bueno Silva?

I've watched the footage in slow motion several times and can't spot anything but the camera angles available aren't the best.
Anyone seen anything definitive?

I don't like the idea of a fighter declaring the end of a fight. Leave it to the ref, who in this case was in close proximity.

Quite clear she tapped and looked like a naughty schoolgirl waiting to be found out with her sheepishness and total lack of remonstration.

I can somewhat agree with the second half of the sentence but if that is all we are working with beyond the footage broadcast then I disagree with "Quite clear".

I fighter that hasn't tapped doesn't meekly throw away months of camp like that; it was also telling the moment they disentangled; nothing. No protest, no animation just hope she could get away with it.

Definitive proof is preferred obviously, but this one was well off in a number of ways from an erroneous call.

Has anyone heard any whispers of a co-main for UFC 279? At the moment that card looks absolutely dogshit, but doesn't look like there's any title fights available to add to it.

Bo Nickal (master wrestler) fighting some tin can tonight in the contender series.

Hopefully we will se some of his wrestling in action. Last time he fought (his pro debut), he just knocked out another tin can in a few seconds so no wrestling involved.

Not much to see again - his opponent literally couldn't have made it easier for him to take him down within the opening 5 seconds.

Interesting that Dana hasn't awarded him a contract and wants to put him in another Contender series fight first. I do think he needs a bigger test here despite his inexperience, opening as a 35/1 favourite is ridiculous and both his opponents so far have been complete bums.

I feel like the UFC has gotten to the point where it's thoroughly watered down, and any given card may or may not have a single fantastic match-up on paper.

I think that's why you see Sam Alvey still fighting, at least we've heard of him. A parade of unfamiliar faces isn't a great look.

Yeah, not much, aside from the speed at which he operates in the ground, amazing. One more fight (and development contract) is fair enough so the guy can get acclimated to the UFC lights before his official UFC debut, but talentwise, Dana knows for sure the guy will be a problem for that Middleweight division.

Hopefully he makes his debut early next year.

Speaking of decorated wrestlers, Pat Downey just now made his MMA/Bellator debut and defeated some 0-3 can via arm triangle choke in 36 seconds.

Smiling Sam has been released from UFC and now pursuing a fight with Jake Paul

Any decent fights tonight?

The main event on paper, but you never know with the rest.

Looking forward to seeing Bruno "Blindado" Silva in action.
