Jiri needs to tidy up or he won’t be champ long; whole point of being freestyle is that you have the ability to evade and be unpredictable in your strikes. He gets clobbered far too much and even though he has a great chin, it’s finite and once gone, he’ll be cooked.

The dynamics of the division are going to be interesting over the next 18 months.

Yeah, I agree. Tremendous chin and withstood some shots that would have put anyone else down, but you can't take shots that flush and rely on your chin because it doesn't last forever.

I don't think he beat Sandhagen personally, but that 'win' alone probably gets him there.

Cory ended up getting a shot at the title earlier anyway, so justice has already been served (kind of)

I think a drug cheat has to work his way up from the bottom instead of being 1 win away from a title shot. He’s benefiting from his wins as a drug cheat and doesn’t seem fair
 
What a consummate performance from Silva. Superb. The other girl's coaching team should have pulled at the end of the second; she was outclassed everywhere, even with her only hope, grappling.

He really needs to stop. He's taking years off his life the way he gets sparked out cold. He's going to be slurring words before 40 at the rate he's going.

I remember seeing the x-ray of his face after that fight, after looking it up it says he had 8 fractures and a 9 hour operation :eek:

Really looking forward to his weekends main and co-main event, Tsarukyan vs Gamrot feels like the future of the lightweight division and Rakhmonov making the step up against Magny should let us know if he's a potential challenger at welterweight, some other solid fights on the card too.

I don’t keep up with 1 One or however they call it; didn’t even check the description when it came up on my feed (you were right, it was 3yrs ago!), but you simply cannot keep getting hit like that and it not destroying you. His face - 8 fractures - is horrendous, but you have to wonder about the other kind of damage, too, internal, to the brain. I don’t know if he’ll throw his hat in ever again, but if he does, he’s got to unlearn some of those traits of his - you can’t have your hands down, and have no head movement, it’s just suicidal, especially against so many circular styles in MMA where he’ll be attacked with hooks and elbows.

I think it’s a good card: it’s strange how there is no discussion here about upcoming events anymore.
 
That Lucas Brennan kid looked a real pain in the hole to fight. Looked like he could submit you from anywhere - could have a great career if he keeps improving.

Gonna be one of those nights again. I got lucky on this one luckily (Demoupolus).
 
What a shitty last year for JP Buys. Loses his 3 UFC in a row, probably gonna get cut now.

And his wife, Cheyene Vlismas (ex wife now), cheats on him on that stud that is Roman Dolidze (She went up 5 weight divisions).

Pain.

If ever a group of judges were bound to be corrupt, it would be the street fighting competition run by a casino company out of Las Vegas.
 
Imagine Khabib had the kicking range that Umar does. Fortunately for everyone in the bantam division Umar doesn't have the killer ground game his cousin has.
