Joe ‘He’s setting traps’ Rogan.
But the issue I have with Rogan is that he’s pointing out the bleeding obvious. Problem is, Izzy fights on the outside and it’s not so easy to go for the takedown. I don’t know, I haven’t been impressed with Rogan for a while now.
Jan fought a great fight and 2 perfectly timed takedowns in the championship rounds sealed it. Izzy exposed as a reach bully. Disgusting bias from Rogan if you only listened to him you'd have thought Izzy was styling on him.
Amanda looked like she fought someone picked off the street.
Yan spoiled a great performance with a moment of madness. Feel for Aljo for it to go like that, would hate to win in those circumstances or cop a hit like that when you don't expect it.
Theres a whiff of wonderboy about Izzy. As soon as opponents stop coming forward to him he is going to struggle imo.Ugly from Yan but I've never understood how it's OK for a fighter to just buy time on his knees. He was done.
Izzy hasn't been exposed, please don't use that word, it's a load of nonsense. Izzy has a long reach and he utilises what he has. Jan was just better and too strong.
Decent card. Nunes the GOAT, Yan is a clown and Izzy is no where near big enough for that division.
Roman needs to feck off, he adds nothing, picks a favourite and doesn't budge on it ever.
Yeah I did at the time and a few people in the thread did....but when you see the replay and how his neck snaps back it’s rough to say he’s faking. If he was then he’s got a granite chin because that knee was delivered with concussive forceI thought Rogan/DC were correct in their assessment about Izzy's feints early on - Jan was biting and it meant he couldn't set his feet and generate his usual power. It was incorrect however to say he was being 'outstruck'. It was a mostly even fight on the feet and then Jan pulled away with his work on the ground.
Yan-Sterling was a good fight but Yan was completely dominant before that knee. Defence was tight, looked very composed and measured, landed all the eye-catching strikes, his takedown defence was superb and he even swept Sterling down a few times for good measure. I think it has to be a DQ in that situation (also ref's need to make a call and not put pressure on the downed fighter to make a decision when these things happen), though I am a bit dubious about how much Sterling was actually hurt.
Might as well see if Cejudo wants to come back and fight Nunes for the Intersex Championship at this point. She is far too good for the women's game.

Not convinced his head snapped back. It looked like a grazing shot to me that he made the most of. He got an out and took it(rightfully so) but I don't believe for a second that he cares that he got the belt that way.
Grazed him? Are you sure?
I watched it slow mo and it’s a full force knee to his left temple. I don’t know how anyone fights on safely without potentially suffering severe brain damage.Watched a slow mo and it didn't look anywhere near as bad. Looks nasty at full speed. 100% don't believe he was out of it like he was making out though. Think it should be legal too.

I've just read that Dan Hardy has been fired by the ufc and BT. That sucks, as I've always enjoyed his fight breakdowns.
Looked grazing to me on slow mo. Not really sure where the idea that this is brain injury waiting to happen comes from, whereas the repetitive punches, knees, kicks and elbows during the fight aren't as dangerous or as bad. The shot should be allowed and fighters would protect themselves like they should, not take a breather.
He looked and sounded out of it. If he’s not in the right frame of mind then he wouldn’t have been able to defend himself. It’s a recipe for disaster putting a fighter whom is already probably concussed to get pummelled again.Looked grazing to me on slow mo. It's from the wrestling observer.

I think it was only first reported a few hours ago. It might break more tomorrow.Strange that there's no coverage about it other than the reddit post. It would be pretty big news if he were let go.
Didn’t Dana say that anyone calling out the referees like he did would be sacked and never employed again? He was already on thin ice.

I’m not a doctor or anything but I’ve heard of a second impact syndrome and even if there is a small chance of this happening then the fight needs to be stopped. End of. It shouldn’t have been left to Aljo. Ref or the doctor should have called it earlier.
I didn’t even know he wanted to fight again. I just heard Dana say that it was first and the last time someone calls out a ref in his organisation - to paraphrase him.I wouldn't believe that he's out until its officially confirmed. The fact that he's preparing to fight again is pretty irrelevant since the likes of Cruz, DC, Bisping, and Felder have all fought while maintaining commentating gigs on the side.

He hasn’t been exposed, but it was fascinating to watch how often he was getting tagged when he didn’t have the advantage of being able to back away and step out of reach. People said Jan was too slow, but he was out striking him in every round.
It was also his choice to come in so small. He was going to prove to us all how muscles don’t win fights, until he got bullied and taken down and controlled twice.
I am like you, I hate the word exposed. He is still an excellent fighter. But UFC clearly thought they had more than they had with him. They wanted the double champ and Jones fight and to push him as an elite fighter like the latter.
Those are just pipe dreams now. Jones would murder him, even at this stage of his career. They would be wise to keep him in his own division going forward and not get ideas above their station about him anymore.
I think Jones beats him comfortably because of size but I think Izzy can come again at that weight. It's always mad for a fighter to go up weight and fight the champ. You have to get used to the weight.
Lots of things played into Izzy losing but ultimately Jan was the better man and like I said it doesn't mean someone has been exposed, that is a huge discredit to Jan who is a damn good fighter.
Jan is about 38 so his reign at the top isn't likely to be very long. Santos, Glover and the others are old as well, which is why (imo) a guy like Ankalaev is probably the future of the division.
