Gaming The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Pretty much perfect scores across the board, as expected.

DF already have a tech review up as well. Very interested to see how it holds up on the Switch.
 
Seems like they may have fixed a lot of the stuff I found lacking in the last game. Super buzzed now.
 
Watching the reviews makes me think it's going to be the only game I play for the rest of year. Unbelievable quality as always.
 
Metro Gamecentral review headline just say's "You know the score" :lol:

Preordered mine, picking up tomorrow. Girlfriend is off to her folks place. The weekend is mine!

First game I've bought directly from the switch store so I can play at midnight, hope it works smoothly on that rather than the usual cartridges.

Reading it now and all I can say is WOW. I knew they'd expand on BoTW, but not to this extent.

The urge to pull a sicky tomorrow is getting stronger
 
The DF tech review is pretty positive. Looks slightly better than BotW and, after a day one patch, seems to run very close to a locked 30 most of the time. Time for Skill Up's +-40 minute review now. :lol:

It's genuinely miraculous how Nintendo get their games running so well on such an old piece of kit.

IGN said that despite the odd frame drop they didn't experience a single bug in over 100 hours. That's incredible when you consider the state most games release in nowadays, let alone OW games.
 
The Guardian have given it 5/5 stars: "Since I first hit start on Tears of the Kingdom two weeks ago, scarcely a minute has passed when I was not either playing it, or wishing I was playing it. I am honestly slightly annoyed to be taking time away from it to write this review."

That's exactly what I wanted to hear, but I can already hear my wife telling me to put down the switch and stop ignoring her and my inner monologue occassionally reminding me I really should at least try to engage with the things in my real life.
 
I am so glad this is out 2 months before my child is born. Otherwise I’d have always resented that little bollocks.

You'll get plenty of time in the first few months to game. My daughter just turned 15 months and I don't get a minute when she's awake. Thankfully I've roped the in laws in for the weekend so they're taking her out.

Tbh I do find it funny how giving a Zelda game 4/5 makes some people frown or question the reviewer’s intentions. As everyone must give it a 10/10. There will always be people who won’t love your game. Even for BOTW Skillup who most people do like, did caveat his positive review with ‘not enough legend’ or something. It’s fine, it’s a personal view!

This place is just as bad if you ask me. Alas poor @Alock1 is the walking embodiment of what happens when somebody has a different opinion from the loudmouths.
 
I have it predownloaded and ready to go. It's just 2 hours until midnight where I am, so I'm hoping that I'll suddenly be able to play it then. Fingers crossed!
 
Reviews are just amazing. Not just scores as it was clear it would score very highly but seemingly they just took everything that made BOTW amazing and made it a whole lot better. For someone that anticipated this to be more of a BOTW+, to realize it is so much more vast, full of things to do with the world being magnitudes larger and more interesting, it makes all the hype I had for this game go through the roof.
