I can't even remember what the uproar about part 2 was :lol:

Not sure the seasons will correspond with the 1 and 2, think they'll stretch it out a bit more.
 
As good as a debut can be, mirroring the game without it feeling like it's based off one, it feels real and cast is absolutely spot on. Bella Ramsey has Ellie to a tee.
 
It was good and an exceptional adaptation - but I feel it's getting a bit overhyped because it's actually mastered the feat of being a good adaptation. But it's the best source material that's ever been adapted, since it actually builds the characters in the game, and more importantly, the bond between the characters.

I'm more interested in them saving the shite writing of the second game though, since it totally forgot the above. But it shouldn't be too hard to resolve that issue in TV form.

I hate that this series exists because I was hoping for a 3rd Last of us game. Which obviously won't happen to schedule now because they'll prioritise this piece of shit TV series

Theres no spoilers. And the relationships and interactions have been mentioned plenty before my post. And you’d already know this from trailers too.

But whatever, I won’t return to this thread if this how sensitive it is. I mean why be in this thread at all if things as non spoilery as that will bother people. Me out.

Why would a show made by HBO impact a game series made by Naughty Dog?

If anything they'll be more inclined to make a third game given the show looks to be so massive. It's basically free marketing.

Apparently the story for Part III is nearly complete. I wouldn't be surprised if they are all ready working on it. Sony tend to hold off on any game announcements until they have a cemented release date, hence the delay in any Last of Us Factions release date. I'd be surprised if Naughty Dog don't look to capitalise on increasing popularity in the franchise due to the series.

Yup, Anna Torv. She's been in some decent tv shows, one of the things that made me hopeful when the casting was announced.
 
Really strong first episode. Liked the addition of the first tv interview scene as an introduction to people who hadn't played the games.

I hope we do get some deviations from the game story though, just to keep it fresh for those of us who know the games.

I was just pointing out what I believe @RexHamilton was referring to. I've played the game so it didn't bother me. I agree it wasn't a spoiler, but it was a reference. I guess the thread is just to be treated as though we've not played the game and based on what we've seen on the show. Might be best for those of us who've played the games to avoid it to be honest.

They should retcon the entirety of part 2 in TV form.
 
This have potential for hell of a zombie show. Hopefully it will stay brutal like the game was and even add some gruesome elements from other work (Romero's movies, 28 Days Later, TWD etc).
 
Got onto tlou game late but was one of my faves

Episode one was just fantastic. The beginning part was just great and tense

Haven't seen torv in anything since fringe so good to see her again. The characters all look great.

Also seeing John Hannah was kinda hilarious in that opening scene :lol:

Can't wait to watch more of this. Music and feel of the show is all great so far

Yeah he really reminded me of you.

He's the host more than anything and mainly asks the other two questions about the show, so he's fine.

Man, marking a spoiler as a spoiler from a game is dangerous territory. Especially for those who havent played the game..
Im so surprised even after the whole game of thrones thing, people still dont get the spoiler thing, even when its in the thread title.

It'll end with 2 different threads, one for game spoilers and one without.

It's difficult for game players not to accidently spoil things anyway, even a small slipup can be a spoiler. Also I guess the gamers may want to talk about the difference between game and TV show too.

No, just in general. Its happened a few times already here.
But again, its not about 'you dont have to click'. Its about being considerate for those who are watching this for the first time with no references.

Yes but it could be a spoiler from the first episode as there are some people who will come into the thread just to see what people’s thoughts are before they watch the episode. It’s not that hard, we don’t talk about spoilers from the game in here.

I did look to be fair. If it is to be taken literally, then all posts would be either: This is great, or this is alright, or this is shit. There'd be no point. Maybe do what the Guardian do and have a TIG, TIA, TIS thread and a discuss with Spoilers thread.

I think my first post, post-release in this was, 'this is excellent, and I like how it mirrors the game'. Words to that effect anyway. Anything remotely spoilery I've put in a spoiler, and please see my previous reply.

The point being someone who hasn’t played the game will see ‘spoiler’ and click on it thinking it was related to spoilers in the first episode. Not the end of the entire series.
