It’s one of my favourite ever games. I’ve never felt so emotionally drained after playing a video game.Awesome, I somehow never played the ps4 version past the first hour. Seems like a good excuse to remedy that.

My favourite ever game.
Enough with the remasters etc just announce the third instalment. Just a money grab.
100%. As a package, 1 & 2 are among the toppest games I’ve ever played and I’d downloaded them recently when I got my new ps5.It’s one of my favourite ever games. I’ve never felt so emotionally drained after playing a video game.
Love the Last of Us Part II. That action and stealth gameplay loop was pure brilliance. Really really hope we get a third.Awesome, I somehow never played the ps4 version past the first hour. Seems like a good excuse to remedy that.
I understand the feeling it was too long but for me I just didnt want it to end. I would have happily had another chapterThey love a re-release/remaster/director's cut.
I'm presuming director's cut means extra sections they had to cut? As good as the game was, it was far too long.
Everything after Ellie leaves the homestead and goes to Santa Barbara had me going "Just end..."
I think the segment when Ellie goes ‘back in’ could have been done better. It lost steam during that section. But all in all, narrative, characters, technical doesn’t and gameplay were all top notch. I personally enjoyed part II more than the original. Really hoping the PS5 gets one more original TLOU game.I felt it was too long in the middle but as it was ending, I wished it wouldn't.
I think that part was supposed to be a slog, the tone shift, the weather etc...I think the segment when Ellie goes ‘back in’ could have been done better. It lost steam during that section. Played both. First was meh and second i turned off when i discovered you cant kill a particular person. Never went back.Just came in to say this is one of the best games ever, if you haven't played it you're missing out.

Its all personal opinions, but these wouldnt feature in my top 20 games of all time, never mind my top 100.
I never played the original multiplayer. I love the games but I’m not sure how well the gameplay would translate to online?Hmmm, how should I feel about this?
Scrapping the live service to focus on single player games instead is probably a good thing.
I get the draggy bit but what do you mean by forcing it on everyone? I don’t recall them forcing anyone to buy their game. I can’t for the life of me understanding why it’s so offensive for people for Ellie to like a girl. Or Abby to be on the bigger side. The first was a masterpiece. The second was meh - felt too draggy, not as interesting and they were just forcing that whole LGBTQ thing on everyone.
I doubt Sony has spare teams sitting around waiting for extra work. It's clear the scope of this project got massively out of hand and they either had to release something half-baked or possibly scale up development and make it their main focus. We'll never know the real story, but I think we can all agree we didn't want Naughty Dog to have a fecking live service game as their main focus. It feels like they've wasted a lot of time on this in hindsight, and I wonder how far away the in-development SP games are after this statement. It's definitely the right decision, but something doesn't really add-up. Why would it take all their resources going forward when it hasn't so far? Why couldn't they partially hand it over to another Sony team for after release dev?

In a year where we've seen a record number of layoffs across the industry, and more evidence than ever before that live service games are an enormous risk and most of them get killed within 6 to 12 months after launch, that first part of your post strikes me as extremely simplistic.Sony wouldn't say no to creating or expanding a team that can make huge amounts of money over the next decade though. Whether ND would allow or want that is probably a big factor as it's their IP, but agreed that this is the decision most people would want them to make.
You do know that when people buy their game they do not already know the storyline or who the characters will be or their sexual orientation right? I have no problems with Ellie liking a girl, just as I have no problems with Abby being big. Representation and diversity is important. But don't do it just for the sake of it which felt to me like what they did (Lev as well?!). What the game should have done more is to focus on the premise of revenge and its implications which was the main idea of the game.I get the draggy bit but what do you mean by forcing it on everyone? Same is the case any film or work of art. Your choice whether you want to consume. If the sight of a lesbian kiss annoys anyone they are free to turn it off. Yeah it’s a story of revenge - but are such stories not meant to have personal stories within them? This isn’t John Wick. Also what would make it ‘not for the sake of it’. Genuinely curious about that one.You do know that when people buy their game they do not already know the storyline or who the characters will be or their sexual orientation right? Anyway that wasn't the main reasons (it was one small gripe) I didn't think the game wasn't very good. I just got bored of it halfway through and was waiting for it to end.
Stop forcing your Solius-ness on meHow do you people not realise yet that gay people’s existence in things means it’s being literally forced upon us.
If you think for longer than one individual synaptic connection of your brain you may also come to the conclusion that someone being gay is no more “for the sake of it” than an Asian character, or a female character, or literally the choice of horse colour. It’s arbritrary and only seems to matter to certain people. But let’s not stress our heads with that much critical thinking.
