Edgar Allan Pillow

@Edgar Allan Pillow is the drop/pick valid only for the reinforcement rounds or we can do that say in our last two picks?
Nice try.
Only for reinforcements.

I'll partner up England's best ever left centre back with England's best ever left back, in that case...
I'd rather have him than almost any defender (CH) we've had.I would rather have him than Lukaku.
There could only be one other choice, surely...and he hardly solidified his name in the greatness stakes at any point.
Somewhere, @antohan just smiled.L. Eyzaguirre
There is a one modern one that is miles above Hapgood and few older ones that are one the similar level from what we can know but that is up to debate, modern one is the reason i laughed.
Not one of those that thinks majority is always right, in fact im of the opposite opinion but in this scenario there is a good chance there isnt a single person on this planet that would share your opinion, in fact im confident that even you dont actually believe what you said.
Uh, the bolded is clearly massive hyperbole:

That's one shite list tbh. And not only in terms of full backs...Uh, the bolded is clearly massive hyperbole:

if you read my post again you will see that i dont mind him even as second best leftback that they had but the difference between him and a certain someone is night and day.
So you mean HapGood is good but not FapGood?

Haven't really reviewed it as a whole, but a certain English midfielder to be put down as a "honorable mention" is a bit too much. It's a player who we all have seen and not to mention how highly regarded among his peers.I can understand disagreeing with the list.
But to call it a "shite list" again seems like hyperbole - it doesn't include anyone that isn't in the argument for Top2-3 in their position IMO even though its obviously old player biased.
At this level things are not as objective really. Especially with players we all haven't seen. I have no problem with people saying they prefer modern players in these positions (as I generally do) but I feel like bias is ruling some of this exaggerated reaction rather than objective rating of footballers.

Nobody here will doubt credentials of Varela, Meazza, Mazzola, Nasazzi and co.
im sorry but thats just bs....im not against older players(if anything you argued against Meazza with the comment how they played something that doesnt even look like football, view that was based on a one minute clip). .
Uh it was based on dozens of reports of the match and entire tournament from multiple countries in Europe and South America. It was absolutely not based on just a one minute clip. It was based on numerous sports journalists and historians accounts from around the world.
Also, I am not comparing Hapgood to Meazza. You said there were several other older English LBs with equal credentials to Hapgood. That is something i have never heard. Feel free to PM the names but I have never heard in decades any other English left back pre-1966 WC winning side that had the credentials of Hapgood so that is all I am calling BS on your claims
Yeah. Was just watching England - USSR from 1958, his leap and positioning were fantasticThought Billy Wright could have gone earlier. Nice pick @Moby
Sure, but surely half of those in front of him in the pecking order don't have 11 Prem titles and 2 CL's, of which he has been an integral part. This is why I bring up the subjective element.
If you look at all the first XI midfielders
I can almost guarantee that United, Liverpool and Chelsea fans will all believe a specific midfielder was unjustly left out of the first squad. But all three sets of fans are going to differ on which player was the most unjustly left out. All three sets of fans can also make the same argument of "we have sen our player more than other fans therefore can rate him better than opposition fans".
In fact I have heard that exact argument about those three midfielders done to death by all three sets of fans in pubs, watching matches, online etc.
