Carlos Valderrama
Dude, you got to update the list sometimes....
Right.
I'm either stupid or too lazy to read rules properly (maybe both). Can someone explain why there are so few modern players?
No rush, BBC programme just starting.
Ta, but you can have one from 70s, one from 80s, two (?) from 90s (date of birth)?only one player per decade for 70s and 80s + most modern ones won at least one big trophy from the criteria list so its not that easy to get them

So possible of four more modern players but most teams seem to have fewer than that comfortably?
Shhhh!!!Holy crap, he is building a WM

Ta, that helps....It's because this is the era of the super club - only 4 of the 54 players to feature in the Ballon d'Or top 3 since 2000 have failed to win the CL, and two of them won the World Cup. Compare that to the two decades prior when 14 of the 60 players in the top 3 failed to win the CL, and 12 of them didn't win the WC either. You don't have someone like Preben Elkjaer creating history at Verona in this era. On top of that you have star-studded France and Netherlands teams of the 80s who achieved international fame without World Cup success, which just didn't happen to take place in this era. Instead we got Spain and France both winning the Euros and World Cup back-to-back, with really mediocre Greece and Portugal sides winning after them. And finally you have elite European players like Valentino Mazzola who played before the European Cup existed and during a period when the World Cup wasn't taking place, or Charro Moreno who was part of a team that abstained from playing in a World Cup.
Everything about this draft is stacked towards a team more dependent on the oldies than previous ones.
my favorite team so far is probably @prath92
If it wasn't for Ecstatic picking Bergomi I'd have only 1 player born before the 40's - Djalma, which would make it rather modern, or at least 80-90's oriented team.Ta, but you can have one from 70s, one from 80s, two (?) from 90s (date of birth)?

Have the timezones just ended up really awkward in this draft or something? Seems to be moving incredibly slow.
I think so, it seems that every other player is multiple time zones away from the ones before and after them (or they are like us and just have bizarre daily hours)
It’s not your average draft insofar as the restrictions need time to be navigated around. We could record pick times but it still would have the problem of a handful of drafters deciding they can’t compete with the low pick times and effectively saying ‘feck it’.Have the timezones just ended up really awkward in this draft or something? Still I think recording pick times generally move things quicker. At least it encourages people to send in their options if they aren't around. It’s not your average draft insofar as the restrictions need time to be navigated around.
