The I told you so thread.

We won't make any more signings of note (expect somelike Blind/Rojo) and won't get anywhere near the top 4.

We will win our first treble ever.

The CL will be really tough. Munich, Dortmund, Atletico, Barcelona, Chelsea and maybe one of the other English sides and PSG could all be close to tossups, even with the insane firepower Madrid possess.

Even if you get an easy draw for the groups and 16, you'll probably have to beat 3 very, very good teams. Even if you're 60-40 favorites in 2 of them and a toss up in the 3rd that's only about an 18 percent chance of winning it all, from that point on.

Also decent odds you'll have to beat both Atletico and Barca in the Copa Del Rey with it being 2 legged (less likely either get upset).

I'd put the odds of a treble at about 40 to 1.

Treble rankings, for me:

Reasonably possible:
1. Bayern - Massive favorites for the league, almost 50/50 for the Cup with Dortmund and the basic 10 percent chance the proper contenders have for the CL.
2. PSG - Massive favorites for the league, massive favorites for the cup and maybe a half to 2/3rds of the basic 10-15 percent chance the proper contenders have for the CL (so, 15-20 to 1 or so for the CL)

Plausible:
3. Chelsea - Slight league favorites, best of the 7 solid Cup contenders and maybe the basic 10-15 percent chance the proper contenders have for the CL, owing to Mourinho's experience and the squad depth.
4. Madrid - Even for the league with Barca, one of 3 cup favorites with Barca and Atletico, and around a 15 percent chance as the slightly best suited of the proper contenders for the CL, owing to their insane depth, experienced manager.
5. Barcelona - Even for the league with Real, one of 3 cup favorites with Real and Atletico, owing to their defensive issues , unproven manager and susceptibility to counter-attacking football against top teams, and the CL is a fecking crucible for that.

Not completely implausible:
6. Dortmund - Munich could fall apart with injuries or German front office drama, and then it's all possible. Javi Martinez out is a good start and Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Neuer, Boateng and Muller will have played a fairly ludicrous amount of football and Robben (intense WC, too), Badstuber, Thiago and Ribery are often hurt.
7. Juventus - Good chance at the double, small chance at the CL. New manager should feck it up.
8. Manchester City - Not likely at all, but a ton of depth (especially up front). They'd have to win it like we did in 1999, with their forwards scoring a ton of goals and some insane, dramatic victories.
9. Roma - Same as Juve, but with a less impressive squad (RB, Gervinho, GK and Iturbe aren't good enough) but better manager.

Speck of a chance:
10. Atletico Madrid - Barca and Madrid are too good, but their depth is underrated, especially at the back. Costa has been well replaced, but Felipe Luis will be tough and they, like Dortmund, are better suited to cups than leagues with their counter-attacking style.
11. Porto - Will win the double, but need a goddamn miracle to win the CL

I'm ready to rule out Arsenal and Liverpool because no team is winning the treble with those defensive midfielders. It just can't be done. You'd fall apart at some point.

LVG will sanction the sale of 6 players,
LVG will buy 4 more players
United will finish 3rd on goal difference, but on same points Liverpool and Arsenal
Chelsea will win League
City will lose in semi-final of CL
RM will retain CL
City will do domestic cup double.
Spurs will win Europa
Suarez will spend most of season on the Barca bench.
Harry will get sack from QPR
Moyes will get job in PL

 It was a bit tongue in cheek mate. Altough there's always the slight chance that I'll be able to say "I told you so" at the end of the season.

Realistically I don't see a team win the treble in a very long time. There isn't a team that really sticks out compared to the other top teams in Europe at the moment, it's a bit too competitive right now.

Our form post-January will be title-winning form which sees us into the top four following a very poor first half of the season.

Welbeck will dislodge the Rooney-RvP partnership and Januzaj's rise to prominence will see RvP fall by the wayside toward the end of the season.

Gerrard will struggle this season and have one of his poorest to date in a Liverpool shirt.

Sterling will become Liverpool's new talisman and will be in contention for the POTY award, let alone YPOTY.

Chelsea will go close to breaking the record points tally in a PL season, amassing over 90 points.

Rooney will finish as Premier League top goalscorer and Ramsey will be in the top three.

Spot on, my crystal ball agrees with all of your predictions!

We will finish 10 plus points behind 4th.

After today's game, I think I needed to shit all over the hopes of the fan of another team. :)

Benatia will be a bayern player in the next 7 days and we won' sign Vidal or Di Maria, meltdown expected. We will sign Rojo though.

We will finish in the top 4. Our form after Christmas will be the best in the league but a poor start will stop us from winning the league.

Sterling will win young player of the year.

Ramsey will win player of the year.

Rooney and RVP will work well together.

Ronaldo will score more goals than Messi.

Rooney will be the England captain.

We'll be 13 points off 1st by October.

We'll take until November to start cracking and will come 5th, narrowly holding off Tottingham and Everton.

Chelsea will win the league, but have a hard luck story in Europe
Arsenal will win the FA Cup, although Sanchez and Ozil both have poor seasons
Liverpool finish a long way off the top 3 but still 4th.

Rooney has his highest goal scoring season for a long time.

One of Smalling/Evans/Jones becomes a top defender

I would like to be optimistic like you all but utd will be a mid table team for a few more years

I agree with this. I'm quite sure there will be no marquee signings this window unfortunately. Blind/Rojo might be possible. I still think we could make top 4 though, but with this squad it is going to be a challenge for sure.

No way, would be a huge fan revolt against the Glazers, and LvG would not stay if the club went back on their promises, this is the only way we won't get top 4 this season if the players we need don't come, it might take us 2- 3 years to win the PL again, but we will be top 4 this year the consequences of not been don't bare thinking about, then we will kick on.

If it did go tits up again, because the investment didn't come, i'd expect LvG to walk away, and the Glazers to try and sell up.

We will finish either at 3rd or 4th.
Liverpool will miss next year CL spot.
Chelsea would win the league.

We'll finish in the top 4.
Rooney will be top scorer in the PL.
We'll win a domestic cup. Probably the shite Mike Mouse one, as we apparently can't win the FA Cup anymore.

Barcelona will walk the league with record breaking number od scored goals. Suarez will be league top scorer.
They will also win Champions League.
Real Madrid will struggle.

We'll have Kazakh side in UCL group stages in next 5 years and Azerbaijan side in next 10 years.

Scottish Premiership is going to end up like Wales Premier League. Mediocre league who noone outside UK watches. Celtic (and Ranger probably) will move to EPL like Swansea or Cardiff but will struggle in The Championship.

Here's to us being here in 10 years to see if that comes true

*Downs whisky shot*

Ireland should have lost to Kazakhstan a few years back in the opening world cup qualifier. Definitely doing something right in producing players.

We're going to ditch the 3-5-2 formation soon and win the league this season playing a 4-3-1-2 formation:

De Gea; Rafael, Smalling, Evans, Shaw; Vidal, Herrera, di Maria; Mata; Rooney (c), van Persie.

Put Rojo in there in place of Evans and this'll be our preferred XI (injuries permitting) under van Gaal come October.

This won't happen. The overall quality of the SPL is still good in comparison to previous years. It's only Celtic who have dropped. Scottish football will get stronger from here on in, as much as I hate Rangers, them coming back up with improve the marketability of the league and force Celtic to spend a bit more on quality players. Plus the fanbase in Scotland wouldn't allow it to turn into the Welsh Premier League.

Swansea and Cardiff (along with a few others like Wrexham) did not move to the English leagues, they were already there. There was no Welsh league for a hundred years nearly.

Rojo would be an absolute revelation at centre back also morphing into Vidic at some point in the season

I didn't write that they moved... I just wrote that Celtic and Rangers after they potential move will be playing in English Football Pyramid like Swansea or Cardiff.
