The I told you so thread.

United will finish in the top 5
City will win the CL
Costa will miss 6+ games through suspension
West Brom will do something but nobody will care because it's West Brom and completely forgettable
Pulis will get another job
Robbie Savage will somehow get away with being on TV for another year

If Jose fails to lift the prem or CL trophy, he will either be let go (again) "by mutual consent".

Chris Smalling will establish himself as a top, top CB this year.

Liverpool will finish outside the top 4.
We will score 90 goals in the league.
Herrera will score against City.
RvP will become topscorer in the PL.
Palace, QPR and Leicester will go down.
Suárez will hurt Pepe.
Roma will win the Serie A.

United will start the season ridiculously well before dropping off when the fixtures get tougher, ditching the 3-4-1-2 by January and finishing the season a couple of points behind Liverpool in 5th.

United will finish third.
City will be 4th and Pellegrini will get the sack at the end of the season.
Liverpool will finish 5th
Barca and Real will play an Epic El Clasico Cl Final which Barca will win.
Mata will top the assists league.
Welbeck will score 15+
Everton will win a cup
Chelsea will win the league comfortably and lose another Cl semi-final

  • We will have our most enjoyable season in a while, challenging, but not winning the league despite some great moments and Football
  • Man City will feck up this year
  • Arsenal will beat us at Old Trafford
  • Chris Smalling will be recognized as one of the best in the league by May
  • Bayern Munich will win back the Champions League
  • We will win by a huge scorline against one of out fellow top 6 (I'm talking 5 or 6 nil)
  • Liverpool will have another good season, finishing in the top 4 and winning a cup
  • This will be Wenger's last season at Arsenal
  • Welbeck will be recognized as a really top player by May
  • Southampton will be top 10 again despite the Summer exodus
  • Everton will have their best season in years, again challenging for the top 4, doing well in the cups and in Europe

This and Liverpool won't make top 4

United will play 38 games in BLP, will win more than 15 and will draw more than 10. RVP will miss at least 10 BPL games, and Welbeck won't score more than 10 goals. I expect CP to go down this season.

Rooney will score 25 plus in the league.

We will get a shit load of injuries and panic buy in January.

Chelsea will win the league by 8 + points.

I do think most of the big games at OT will end in draws as we have the 4th or 5th best team only but we'll be hard to break down due to the 5-3-2.

Hard to break down?

Teams got in behind us so often during pre-season it's not even funny. Poor finishing and last ditch blocks saved the day.

United will finish third.

Rooney will win the golden boot

Pep Guardiola will be sacked by Bayern before the end of the season.

Phil Neville will be as good as his brother Gary on MOTD, & Owen will be replaced on BT sport.

James Rodriguez will be a flop at Real and Lamela will have a great season.

Long term prediction incoming. I doubt this post will be even be around years from now, but hey. Might as well.

We'll scrape 4th barely, at the expense of either Liverpool or Arsenal, with the first being more likely. We'll beat them to top 4 by 1 or 2 points due to our lack of European fixtures, but we'll be a long ways away from 3rd, no less than 8 points I figure, around 10 perhaps.

Back in the CL, we'll decide our squad is good enough and we'll make 1 or 2 decent Herrera-esque signings on the cheap, probably a winger and Strootman. Good as they would be, van Persie will probably either retire or be too crotchety to play consistently next year and our attack will be an aged Rooney and Welbeck. We'll finish 6th, being front runners for 5th, but dropping it on purpose to avoid playing unnecessary meaningless fixtures in the EL. After another "unexplainably disastrous" season, we'll splurge some of that Adidas money on a world class striker and a refurbished defence and we'll either win the league, or come close second and there'll be an "Oooooooh" moment when a lot of people realise it's good players that win games.

Rooney will score 30 goals.

This will be Mourinho's last season with Chelsea, he will leave just after the season ends after going 2 years without winning a trophy, reports of falling outs and other nonsense during the season as well.

Gerrard will prove to be completly destroyed this season and will be reason for Liverpool's downfall.

Hard to break down?

Yeah, when the players were unfit and still getting used to the system. The first choice 11 never played together either. I expect things to be very different once everyone is fit and has adapted to the system better, which they should have done by the time the first big match comes around.
