The Horror

It was House on Haunted Hill with a 10p budget, most of which was spent on eyeliner. :D

OP... good list although Blair Witch was a big pile of shit.

Your list could use Evil Dead 2 (though I can see your stance), The Howling, and An American Werewolf in London.

Does anyone rate I Spit On Your Grave as a horror?

How about House of 1000 Corpses and The Devils Rejects?

What did everyone make of 'The House On The Haunted Hill' remake?

I thought it was pretty fecking weird/scary tbh.

I also consider American Werewolf a comedy

I watched I spit on your Grave and Last House on the Left remakes. I’ve never seen the originals.

I actually thought both were OK, very gruesome

I’ve seen one of the Rob Zombie movies you mentioned I don’t recall which one though. I didn’t like it

1. Man Utd 1-6 Man City
2. The Shining
3. Blair Witch
4. The Thing
5. Alien
6. Poltergeist
7. Paranormal Activity 3
8. Wolf Creek
9. Identity
10. The Exorcist

I don't watch many horrors. They tend to be crap.

Gulp. I watched a Horror film with a 6.1 rating earlier, mate (titled 'Grave Encounters') - it was dreadful. I hope this isn't an omen... :D

I quite liked Lake Mungo Steve. Perhaps a 6.5 or 7 out of 10.

Nice idea and was reading up on it, sadly its getting the Hollywood remake next year

Nice one, mate. :) To be completely honest, perhaps the film affected me so much because I'd recently been bereaved when I first watched it. Maybe I looked too deeply into its themes. The director has said that it's basically a film about grief - which is true enough - but it hit me for six regardless of this.

I thought it was just rubbish.
It was on a par with Blair Witch , which is quite possible the worst film I have have ever seen , this one is better but not by much.
While there is some good filming in there , great shots of Victoria , the film it self was a let down, even more so when you found out who was behind the pics and has for the ending :boring:

No more than 4.5-5/10 for me.

Dunno if they qualify as horror but Centurion and Doomsday certainly have plenty of bloodfest action.

For whoever asked, Rosemary's Baby is pyschological horror at its best. A lot of the best horror flicks actualy have bugger all violence, eg Psycho, Texas, the Grudge etc...

I grew up on Hammer schlock but although cliched now, the Asian stuff, such as the Grudge, Ring or the Eye is much more atmospheric than the US crap like the Saw or Hostel franchises which is all about the grim manner of death.

I think the (original) Wicker Man will always be my fave horror film. To Randall? Yep, dawn of the dead is defo one of the few good remakes. Check the original though- the screwdriver down the ear scene was fecking awesome.
