The FM10 Player Experiment (I won't abandon this one, I totally promise)

CHICHARITO!

Oh sorry wrong thread, but since i've 'accidentally' bumped this, how's it coming along niMic?

I'm sorry guys, I know I'm starting to run out of excuses here. I just started work this week, and I've been working a lot. I've got tomorrow off, though, so I can absolutely guarantee* that the update will come tomorrow.

* No guarantees

:@

then again, I barely find enough time to breathe between the World Cup and work, so I forgive you... I can't stay mad at a compatriot anyhow.

2016-2017 (1)

Anthony van der Shark – SharkyMcShark

Unsurprisingly Anthony van der Shark decided to spend another season at his boyhood club, Kingston City. He played 33 league games, as always, and scored 22 goals with 7 added assists. His average rating was practically the same as last season, 7.23. His personality was “ambitious”, but there was little evidence of that. Again he didn’t make it anywhere near the national sides of either Australia or France, and you wouldn’t put money at it as long as he stayed at Kingston.

Arturo Scavelli - Solius

Arturo Scavelli did get to play in the top league of Spanish football, but it didn’t last long. In the end his club, Murcia, finished well below the relegation line. Despite the poor finish Scavelli decided to sign a new contract with the club. The contract included a £7.5 million release clause, so perhaps he wouldn’t stay at the club for very long. He more than doubled his league appearances from last season, scoring 5 goals and adding 4 assists in 26 league games, for an average rating of 6.93. Overall a much more successful encounter with European top league football than first time around.

Bob Loblaw - Ivor Ballokov

The new season wasn’t as good as the last one had been, but overall it was still a very good season for Bob Loblaw. He kept a hold of his newfound regular spot in the Aston Villa side, playing 32 league games. He upped his productivity, scoring twice and providing 10 assists, and ended up with a very good average rating of 7.58. This season was slightly better for Aston Villa than the last one had been, finishing in 6th as opposed to 7th, only four points behind the Champions League spot, and 12 points away from #1, as opposed to the 23 points of last season. He finished runner up in the 2016/17 English Players’ Young Player of the Year.
Weeks injured: 2 (24 total)

Das Wálross - Walrus

In his second season as a regular for the Aston Villa first team, Das Wálross finally came into his own. He played 35 league games, more than ever before, scoring 5 times and providing a further 9 for his teammates to score, with 7 Man of the Match awards, more than he had in every other season combined. His average rating was 7.53, meaning it was the best season he had ever had, and at a high level at that. His form was a big factor in his club finishing 6th, guaranteeing European play next season. He just managed to pip his teammate Bob Loblaw to the 2016/17 English Players’ Young Player of the Year.

Dominik Geiger - nyrfan818

Dominik Geiger had never really been a prolific striker, not even in his YF Juventus days. Perhaps to rectify that, he decided to accept a bid from Eredivisie side PSV, joining the club for £13.25 million. There he finally started scoring the goals that everyone knew he was capable of. In 27 league games, more than he had played in 5 seasons, he scored a full 21 goals, with an average rating of 7.34. He failed to win any trophies, his club finishing 4 points behind Ajax for the league title, but he was individually recognized for his good form. In addition to finishing Eredivisie Top Goalscorer, he finished third in the Dutch Young Player of the Year award. A very good year.
Weeks injured: 2 (20 total)

Ed Weatherall - Ed Weatherall

If last season was a decent season for Ed Weatherall, 2016/17 was a very good one. He continued to feature heavily for the Hearts first team, though a broken arm at the tail end of the season meant he still played in less league games than last season, 23 to 27. In that time he still managed to score 6 league goals, providing 8 assists and more Man of the Match awards in any other individual season with 4. He was still to win a trophy or an individual award, but the quick winger was still only 22 years old.
Weeks injured: 29 (50 total)

Emile Messi - x42bn6

It wasn’t a great year for Emile Messi. He continued to improve, and was turning into a surprisingly good footballer, but for the first time in his career, injuries were hampering his progress. He played only 20 league games, scoring 7 goals and providing 3 assists. His first two injuries weren’t major, though a strained knee ligaments kept him out for 7 weeks. At the end of the season both Bari and Dinamo Kiev were watching him closely, something which made the otherwise very ambitious Emile Messi very nervous.

Erik Sørheim - Eriku

It was a spectacular season for Erik Sørheim. Individually he had his best season ever, scoring 10 goals and providing 9 assists in 31 league games for Udinese, becoming Man of the Match a full 8 times with an excellent average rating of 7.81.He also won his first senior trophy, as his club jumped from 7th last season, 15 points behind eventual winners Milan, to first spot. Only two seasons ago his club had finished as close to the bottom as the top, in Sørheims first season. He was a common sight in the Serie A Team of the Week, at one point getting on it four times in a row, and finally he was chosen for the 2017 Serie A Team of the Year.

2016-2017 (2)

Fat Ronaldo - AlwynP

It was a fairly average season for Fat Ronaldo. He played 34 league games for Wolves, scoring 8 goals and 3 assists as he was played equal parts as a striker, attacking midfielder and winger. He was yet to feature for either the English or the Irish national team, but he was still only 22 years old. He was relatively happy at Wolves, particularly enjoying playing next to Davide Petrucci. His club had a decent season, gaining one spot on last year, finishing in 13th. Not quite at the level Fat Ronaldo wanted to play at, but perhaps being made Wolves captain would keep him there.
Weeks injured: 0 (21 total)

Frank Vulgar - FranklyVulgar

Having moved clubs in the very first season of his professional career, it would take 6 seasons before he moved again. After a rather spectacular season that saw him scoring 8 and assisting 17 in 20 league games, he was picked up for free by CCC-side Leeds. There he featured mostly in the reserves, as a left back, but also got 5 chances in the league, where he performed as one might suggest after moving up in competition; not very well. For a club that finished 3rd two season ago, the 10th finish wasn’t spectacular.
Weeks injured: 9 (93 total)

Hassan Emirati - uae

It was another brilliant season for Hassan Emirati, if not for his club. He featured in 27 league games in the Bundesliga, scoring 18 times and assisting 6, with a brilliant average rating of 8.03, the best in his career by a fair margin. After winning the season last year, the 4th finish, 23 points less than last season, wasn’t very good. They also dumped out in the Quarter final in both the German Cup and the Champions League, with Emirati scoring the only goal at home to Real Madrid in a 1-2 loss. He also continued to feature regularly for England, impressing there as well. In January he was the runner up for the 2016 European Striker of the Year, and featured in the 2016 World Team of the Year. He was also named in the Bundesliga Team of the Year at the end of the season, as well as becoming Top scorer.
Weeks injured: 0 (19 total)

Haych Ess Jay - HsJ

It was a good season for Haych Ess Jay, one of the best so far. He featured regularly for Inter, scoring 14 times and providing 4 assists in 36 league games, for a good average rating of 7.44. After losing out on Champions League last season, his club performed better this time around, finishing 3rd in the end, just three points off the top. Despite his technical attributes coming along nicely, and already being somewhat of a beast physically and mentally, he was yet to earn a full international cap. He could probably make the England squad, but was still intent on waiting for a Brazil call-up. In January he finished 3rd in the Serie A Young Player of the Year award, and 2nd in the Serie A Fans Player of the Year award.
Weeks injured: 0 (0 total)

Jacob - Jacob

This was the season where Jacob was finally given the chance to shine. He played 15 league games, more than in any season since his 2013 season with Impuls Dilijan. In those he performed fairly well, scoring and assisting twice each, with a good average rating of 7.23. His club didn’t do as well as last season, though, with Juventus dropping two spots from 2nd to 4th. Though he would still in all likelihood see European play next season. At the club he was publically impressed with Neil Duck, and was happy he got to play with him.
Weeks injured: 0 (6 total)

Jon Muller - muller

Though technically this season wasn’t as good for Jon Muller as the last two, you’ be insane to call it anything other than brilliant. He played 31 league games for his new club Ajax, scoring only 5 times but providing a full 16 assists for his teammates to score. His good form helped Ajax to a fourth league title in a row, though not even a Jon Muller goal could see his club beat Liverpool in the Champions League Quarter final. In his first season at the club, he won the 2016/17 Dutch Young Player of the Year award, making it three in a row for Ajax players.
Weeks injured: 2 (2 total)

Karan Mittal - Karan Mittal

Karan Mittal continued to feature regularly for the CSKA Moscow first team. While he was being played equal parts right wing and left wing for India, who he also continued to play regularly for, his appearances for CSKA Moscow had him playing mostly left wing. He finished the Russian season strongly, and though he was a professed Manchester United fan, it remains to be seen if he can resist the pull of Manchester City, who were reportedly interested.
Weeks injured: 4 (15 total)

Klaus von Überreich - UBERScholes

While this season was marginally worse than the last season, it was still a very good season for Klaus von Überreich. He played 32 league games, again, scoring 8 times and adding 13 assists, more than ever before at United. His average rating was an excellent 7.68. It was a decent season for his club, compared to the previous few seasons, finishing 2nd in the league, 4 points behind Manchester City. They were beaten by Burnley in the FA Cup, and not even an Überreich goal could see them through against Milan in the Champions League 1st Knockout leg. While he was on the shortlist for the 2016 World Footballer of the Year, he failed to win. He did, however, win the English Footballer of the Year, and featured in the English Players’ Premier Division Select.
Weeks injured: 3 (13 total)

2016-2017 (3)

Markus "Stobzilla" Elstob - Stobzilla

Markus Elstob’s third season at Champions League contenders didn’t go quite as well as his breakthrough second season, but it was still an acceptable effort. His club finished in the same position as last season, 5th, just outside of Champions League play. He played a few more league games than last season, 18, and scored 8 goals with 3 assists in the process, and a decent average rating of 7.02. It was still a good season for Elstob, though, as he featured along with the other Italy U23’s in the 2016 Olympics, at the start of the season. He only scored two goals in the tournament, but then those were the first goal in the Semi against Brazil, and the late equalizer in the Final against Argentina, leading to Italy winning on penalties.
Weeks injured: 13 (52 total)

Neil Duck - cold-zebra

Neil Duck’s second season with Juventus was suspiciously similar to his first season. He played nearly as many games, 28, and provided nearly as many assists, 2. His average rating for the league that season was identical to his rating last season, a very good 7.62. Juventus as a whole didn’t have such a good season though, dropping from 2nd to 4th, and being beaten by Real Madrid in the Champions League, with Neil Duck being the worst Juventus player on the pitch in the home leg. In January he was awarded a spot in the 2016 World Team of the Year, and then at the end of the season a spot in the Serie A Team of the Year.
Weeks injured: 1 (22 total)

Nigel Tufnel - GDH

Having been progressively better for at least four seasons so far, all eyes were on Nigel Tufnel for the start of the season. And he didn’t disappoint. He scored more goals than he had since playing for a semi-professional Welsh side. In 35 league games he only provided a single assist, but made up for that with 24 goals. That was just enough to make him the Serie A Top scorer, and enough to put him in the Serie A Team of the Year at the end of the season. His good start to the season also meant he was the Foreign Player of the Year runner up, Player of the Year runner up, Fans Player of the Year runner up, and the Young Player of the Year.
Weeks injured: 2 (7 total)

Nimicinho - niMic

With two and a half seasons at Ajax behind him, he had still only played a total of 22 league games for the club, though he had scored handsomely in that period. This season he was finally trusted to play regularly, and in the 21 league games he scored 16 goals, with an excellent average rating of 7.74. Unsurprisingly Ajax won the Eredivisie, yet again. Nimicinho scored more goals at the start of the season than the ending, but his 16 goals was still enough to finish 3rd in the Top Scorer charts.
Weeks injured: 0 (19 total)

Paz - Paz

Having finally made the step up in competition, the newfound challenges saw Paz developing further. He was excellent physically, but still lacked mentally, and certainly technically. The only way to fix that was to play, though, and this season he played more league games than ever before, as he featured 35 times for CCC-side West Ham. He also scored more goals than ever before, 7, and provided 7 assists. His average rating was merely a decent 6.95, but it was still better than last season. Next season would be a proper challenge, though, as his club gained promotion to the Premier League.
Weeks injured: 0 (6 total)

Sebastien Cassel - Erics collar

It was a so-so season for Sebastien Cassel. He played slightly more than the previous season, appearing 28 times, scored 7 times, and provided a further 2 assists. His average rating was down from last season, but was still a good 7.37. His club performed a bit worse, dropping from 8th to 13th. The bright spot for ESTAC and Cassel was making it to the Semi’s of the French Cup, with particular highlights being Cassel scoring in the 2-2 draw with Lyon, winning on penalties, and Cassel scoring the 2-2 goal against Marseille in the 90th minute of the Quarter Final, ending 3-2 to ESTAC after extra time. In January he was recognized as the 2016 Revelation of the Year, and he was also recognized as the second best signing of last season.
Weeks injured: 7 (24 total)

Smashed Hombre - SmashedHombre

Despite being watched by a few clubs, Smashed Hombre decided to stay another season at Preston in the League One, and he performed well. In 30 league games he scored and provided 8 each, with a good average rating of 7.15. At the end of the season he again garnered interest from such titans of Championship-football as Derby, Scunthorpe, and Sheffield Wednesday. With his contract only having another year left, odds were Smashed Hombre would decide that he belonged in a higher level of football.
Weeks injured: 9 (36 total)

Tor Lawless - FlawlessThaw

After a very good season for Tor Lawless at Burnley, he wanted to show that he could play that well consistently. And in his 5th season at the club he showed just that. In 37 league games, more than ever before, he scored 6 times and provided 6 assists, being named Man of the Match a full 8 times, with a very good average rating of 7.83. His club failed to make an impact in the league, but had a brilliant FA Cup showing. Despite needing replays in the 4th, 5th and 6th rounds, needing penalties to beat Leyton Orient, Lawless and the club won the cup with a 2-0 win over Charlton, in a game where Lawless put in a Man of the Match captaining performance. At the end of the season he was finally spotted by someone bigger, and Germany giants Bayern München had a £13.75 million bid accepted.

Nicely done niMic.

Frank Vulgar - FranklyVulgar

Unlike most, Frank Vulgar didn’t lay about. After only half a season at lowly Pumpherston he was signed by not quite as lowly Galway United, moving from Scotland to Ireland. He progressed well there, and even earned his first couple of U21 games, but had to remain on the sidelines for 8 months when he injured his cruciate ligaments. Because of the injury he had ”only” managed 58 league games in three years, scoring 8 goals but providing 20, with an excellent rating of 7.51.

Damn it! haha i was fine as a lad, only in my later years did the knee injuries bugger me up!

still this is great stuff, good effort mate.

excellent! Das Walross is becoming quite the monster

great update, would it be possible to see some of the individual player awards at the end of the season? or is that simply because none of us are good enough to win them yet?

I was thinking about that just as I posted the update. Some of us have started winning awards, yeah. I'll try to get them in next update.

Calm down you impatient twats, he's just running the game until the year 3000 to see if your great great great grandaughters are pretty fine.
