Pissed at not getting Pep. I called him poisoned chalice on turn 1 for two reasons. 1. no one who picks him ever does particularly well, 2. he usually means sacrificing a #10, which in this format is a killer because you pass on them all, then if you don't get Guardiola you are completely in no man's land.

I definately deserved him, he was to be my main man linking old and new Barcelona :(. Can't believe i forgot about his stint in Qatar. Lucky as it turns out that he was blocked although i knew you wouldn't be letting me have him anyway. Theres a chance i might be better off without him for the reasons you stated in the 2nd post, whether i can get that no.10 squeezed in though i'm not quite sure yet.

Or Mexico, which is why you didn't deserve him. I didn't have to check, I knew instantly! Same with another chap I'll have to hold off for a while...

And yeah, that's what I was hoping you would realise, I just really badly wanted to have him for once even when I know there's feck all chance you win one of these with him.

If @Polaroid wanted to block me, fair fecks, although I don't see the point. But surely he couldn't have thought he had any chance of getting him? :mad:

That's what pisses me off. I don't even go, or care, for the big names yet I get pretty crucial ones blocked anyway.

I know what I'm trying to put together, it just has no fecking soul and is unlikely to have one at this rate. :(
 
Just picked, probably a couple of hours too late to continue today though. :(

Went for a pretty safe option this time, was hoping to get him much later on but none of my other targets meet the criteria.. Damn you Gio!

@antohan , I have not been reading thru the thread to second guess the players others are picking, just picking good players who fit the criteria and my team. Too bad about guardiola and the numerous other legends that ended up banned :( we can try an auction draft next time

If it helps, with koeman's range of passing advancing from the back, guardiola won't be missed too much.

I don't think the first round was that important actually. You have a significant advantage with your 2 fullbacks, imo, pretty sure we see some interesting names later in these positions :lol:. I really need mine as soon as possible or I'm fecked. You just need to pick really well from now on and you're good.

I'm a bit worried that bringing the blocked players back into the game, makes it even more about luck and the managers who went with a less risky approach could be punished, because all of a sudden there's a way out, if you have 1 or 2 sheep. Of course, I could be completely wrong, I've no idea how crazy this last round turns out and how likely it is to get players. Anyway, I'm sure it's crazy fun and who cares about winning, so I'm looking forward to this.
