The first Cricket sheep thread

I like Cook. Think he is class. Also needed a Capitano. Btw, are there still any gems ? Are we talking modern or yester year ?
English forum, young audience, current stars, more votes, profit.

Anderson is simply overrated. Poor everywhere bar England, against a poor West Indies or poor Pak lineups. Redeemed himself in India last time though.

Cook is good - builds great innings and has dug in a fair few times, but he's overrarted considering he is playing in the era of batsmen

But you don't find really reliable openers like him any more do you, even if it is the era of the batsman. Also I love his still of play. Very classy and elegant.

Btw, guys what do you think of something like a Trade at the end of Criteria 12 ? I mean if there are teams that are maybe a little unbalanced, maybe they can trade players (or even sheep!) so that their overall squad is improved as well as the other's. I know probability of something like that happening might be limited, but just a suggestion.

Thats kind of the point that one has to keep in mind while picking up players. The only thing will be people who get more sheeps may have more of one types so maybe they can suggest the kind of player that they want, Batsman,Bowler, All Rounder etc and the sheep can be choosen accordingly for them.

Think it would affect the drafting too much. I'd just be drafting the biggest names with no care for building a cohesive side.

That's true. But it wouldn't fair to implement that now would it ? I mean for those who already have a sheep, the type of sheep can't be changed.

That's not what I meant. Like Prath said, there is a possibility that certain teams may have too much of one type of sheep. For example, if Player A has 3 sheeps and all three are batsmen and wants atleast one bowler sheep and player B has 3 sheeps and he has perhaps 2 bowlers and a batsman, they can trade one player each can't they ?

Oh, I see, you meant trading sheep. Yeah, I'd have no problem with sheep-only trades.

its only 6 criteria and I think the maximum would have been 3 sheeps (havent really checked tbh). So ideally its not too late to build a decent around existing sheeps.

Make it Dale Steyn and you got yourself a deal :wenger:

You just pissed him off

The sheep is as per criteria and we are trying to make criteria such that there is balance. Apart from that I try to allocate a sheep such that it keeps balance if criteria permits. Still, ultimately it is up to you all to maintain balance and now that we are half way, assess your team lineup for balance and select accordingly.

In spite of this if some team in the end is terribly mismatched, we will see. Although in such cases only sheep will be replaced by other sheep likes.

 Where Mr van Gaal has his famous "Philosophy", our very own TMH is a man of inordinate balance.
