The F1 Thread 2015 Season

Last one I had was 2012 so I'd be tempted.

I played the shit out of 2010 with my mates online. Never lost a single race at Spa, must've won there over 100 times online. 2011 came along and it was nowhere near as good and noone else bought it then 2012 was more like 2010 but still noone bought it so I need people to play it with.

Yeah I had the 2010 one for PS3. Remember making Lotus world champion. Though I'll always remember pitting in the single player mode and there was a glitch where half the field would pit at the same time as you, meaning they couldn't safely release you. 1st to 18th in a lap.

New one hasn't got a career mode has it? New gen but a backwards step.

What is the longest sequence of races in which both drivers from a team have ended up on the podium? That's 9 already this season. Surely this is already some kind of record.

I can see Mercedes going through the whole season without their drivers leaving the rostrum.
Apparently Ferrari had two drivers on the podium for nine consecutive races in 1952/53, but that was with four drivers driving for them.

The Formula 1 season is set to feature a record 21 races in 2016.

A provisional calendar features the inaugural Azerbaijan race on 17 July and the return of Germany, dropped this year because of financial issues.

The season will start on 3 April in Australia and end in Abu Dhabi on 27 November, with the British GP on 26 June.

Other changes include the Malaysian GP moving from March to September and Russia switching from October to May.

The Malaysian GP takes place a week after the neighbouring event in Singapore.

French Formula One driver Jules Bianchi had been in a coma since the accident at Suzuka last October. He passed away at a hospital in Nice, near his parents' home in the south of France.

RIP a dreadful accident I hope we never ever see again.

Was only reading up on his recent condition the other day. Such sad news for such a young bloke with the world at his feet. Such a loss to F1. RIP Jules :(

Really sad to hear this news. He truly was one of the good guys of the grid. A quiet man who preferred to do his talking on the track. Who can ever forgett his drive at the Monaco GP last year....Rest in Peace.

I see Di Montezemolo has confirmed Bianchi had been identified as a future Ferrari driver once Kimi leaves.

The FIA have retired the number 17 from F1 as well, which is a nice touch.

Unfortunately I think we all knew it couldn't end well once we saw the replay of that accident.

Indeed, whoever designs F1 helmets does an incredible job. He had no right to survive as long as he did with that impact.

It still seems surreal, I was only 3 when Senna died, and the closest thing I can remember to this was the freak spring accident with Massa, or Sato taking Heidfeld's Sauber side on at the A1 ring which could have been a lot nastier

I'm going to my first ever Grand Prix (Italian Monza) in September. We are staying in Bellagio on Lake Como and will be traveling down by train on the Saturday and again on the Sunday. I'm trying to pre book the tickets in advance but I'm not sure what time I'll be back at the station on each day. Any advice and tips would be greatly appreciated.

Back at Monza station at the end of the day?

It depends how you do it, if my memory serves it's a pretty long walk, but on quali and race day there are free busses (busy) to/from Monza station.

If you're walking I'd allow around an hour, but I am basing this on 8 year old memories.

I don't know what's more annoying, that the Sky Sports website says the video is not authorised in my location (Manchester) or that they have spelt it 'authorized'.

Worked fine for me (and I'm in Manchester).

Hamilton looks hooked up again, expected around here but the Red Bull is quick again.

With all the talk about safety in the past week or so that Perez incident is a pretty good example of all the good work that's been done to improve it over the years.

Lots of nice words from the other drivers.

Also nice to see them carrying tributes on their cars as well; #JB17 and Ciao Jules.
