The F1 Thread 2015 Season

This was never going to be an easy season for Mclaren considering how long Honda have been out of F1.

I'm just surprised Alonso and Button at their age wanted to be part of such a project.

It'll take a lot of time and there is no guarantees that it will come good.

Massa provided some entertainment for the first half(ish) but yea, been pretty crap for the most part.

Sigh one of my favorite circuits. But Merc have managed to make even this boring.

Unfortunately Rosberg is a bit of feckwit so we didn't even get to see a race between the two.

40 seconds ahead of 3rd and they weren't even going for it. Not sure Hamilton even broke a sweat during it.

Four 1-2s in 7 races. 6 wins out of 7. Both drivers haven't been off the podium yet.

It's all a bit easy for Mercedes.

None of them are as you put it " going for it" that's the problem.
F1 should be on the limit racing not about saving fuel /tyres. Its an absolute snoozefest.

The best circuit in the calendar, and no contest for top spot as per usual.

Vettel and a couple of duels at least made it interesting. Something has to be done about this domination though. As much as I love seeing Lewis winning regularly, it feels better to celebrate it when it's hard fought.

Difference between the two Merc drivers, Rosberg says I was pushing like mad and Lewis says I wasn't even pushing, had time in my pocket.

Mercedes haven't even used any of their engine development tokens yet either, depressing.

Pleased to see Hamilton in control again....not much of a race but he did what he had to do.

Anyone been to this GP? Looks an interesting place to visit.

Friend of mine went something like 5 years on the run, he loved it. Said the city was a great place to visit and the circuit was brilliant for spectators.

True. But having been at Ferrari for a few years, he probably thought it'd take a jump to new territory to achieve the aim of getting another championship. I remember him being asked about whether he thought it was a bad decision to leave Ferrari, and his answer was basically along the lines of ' if they don't win the championship' then no. One thing is for sure, I don't think the Mclaren Honda could be any worse though.....

Jenson has driven his fair share of shitboxes (Honda powered ones actually), he knows how to handle it.

I have never been to an F1 race, would like to but the cost is so much, cant really justify it.
I did look to take my 2 lads to Sliverstone last year but the cost was in 4 figures, way too much money.

Every fan should try and go once but the prices are extortionate. You can get a lot of the experience from testing days though, next time they have one at Silverstone (they don't have them here so often anymore) you should plan to go, usually only about £15-20 a ticket with parking.

It's a shame we've lost the roaring V12/10/8's, not sure we will ever get to experience the pure violence of them anymore, until you have one blast past you its hard to comprehend just how loud they are/were.
