FOM, the commercial rights holders of F1, have confirmed that a proposed calendar for the 2016 F1 season has been leaked.

In a highly unusual statement, FOM formally announced on Wednesday night that ‘It would appear that the proposed 2016 calendar has been leaked. This calendar has not yet been approved.’

While stressing that the schedule has not yet been ratified, the statement's description of the leak as the 'proposed 2016 calendar' thus also effectively acknowledges that the leak, first published by Autosport, is an accurate reflection of their current intentions.
As widely predicted, the proposed schedule includes 21 races, staged between April 3 and November 27, with seven back-to-back double-headers.

If ratified, the calendar would limit the sport’s annual summer break to three weeks while Malaysia would be moved from its usual early-season slot to September with the Russian GP taking place in May instead.

To the relief of F1 purists, the calendar also includes the under-threat Italian GP at Monza. The German GP, dropped from this year's timetable, would return at Hockenheim, two weeks after the European GP at Baku in Azerbaijan.

Australian GP organisers announced earlier this week that their Melbourne event would be staged in the first week of April, paving the way for the latest start to a F1 season since 1988.

I'm a bit saddened by Verstappen's troubles with his car, such a shame Torro Rosso can't seem to finish races. He could have been getting points every week, but instead it's dropping out halfway through.

Yes, I'm very excited to see him race. He seems to have an attacking style and it shows!! Massive talent

They are barely trying at this point. That's a HRT.

For god's sake. Looks even worse from above. I wouldn't mind but it's fecking slow as well.

I really like the new re-design, think it looks quite good.

I do not get those sidepods. Or the extra nose swoosh.

I don't know how you can manage to feck up a black F1 car but they found a way. It's just messy with all the extra red nonsense, it's something I would expect from a designer that's simply been told by a suit how to make a livery......Ron innit.

I quite like the red on the side from above, but the front doesn't really look that great.

Finally a bit of fight from Nico.

Don't think Hamilton is happy with the braking and setup again this weekend, usually ends up behind Nico in quali when that happens. Race is a different matter though.

Rosberg's had the edge on Hamilton here for the past couple of years and he's looked quicker all weekend really. Will be interesting to see if Lewis can find a way past tomorrow, considering we keep hearing how much harder it is to follow another car this year.

It's usually a pretty standard race, DRS isn't overpowering here and there aren't many overtaking oppurtunities unless its from the under-cut.

I fully expect a Merc 1-2 in the order they are now barring issues or swapping places at the start, Merc won't let either driver under-cut against each other at the stops because......reasons.

We've seen quite a few overcuts this season, that might be an option if the tyres hold on. Almost worked for Hamilton in Canada and Brazil last year too. Either that or maybe try what Nico did last year, run the hards in the middle stint then attack on the mediums towards the end. Although I don't know if they have to mirror each other's strategies this year with Ferrari being much closer.

But yeah, Nico's race to lose.

Rosberg's going to win this by a mile. Hopefully we see a good fight for second, not looking good though.

Hamilton is gonna do one of those Schumi double quali stints, should be fun to watch.
