Since Alonso's leaving Ferrari partly, although also because he's not got all that much to fight for at this stage of the season now.

There'll probably be a lot of controversy I'd imagine if Rosberg wins it due to the double points thing in the last race. Hamilton's to lose though.

I don't think there will be controversy unless there is an issue with the car as it isn't a shock, the debate has already been had.
Some people will debate who deserved the championship either way. Honestly, I'm just glad this season has finished.
Hopefully they can think about F1 during summer and we can have competitive top tier teams battling it out as there are too many quality drivers in poor cars.

The double points really can tighten it up. Guess that was the idea as stupid as it was.

Look at the standings and season results, the only way Rosberg wins the title is an error or mechanical issue for Hamilton. The Merc's are a pitstop ahead of everyone else, the only time Hamilton has finished lower than 3rd he started from the back, twice.

It's the equivalent of giving away 6 points on the last day of the season which is just a ridiculous idea.
We know its stupid but it is there as a quick fix to ensure the media can build up the final race as a decider and sponsors are happy because people tune in.

Think Bernie and the organisers at Abu Dhabi thought Vettel would walk it again making the final race point less, they have got what they wanted but at the same there's a chance it's going to make the sport look stupid if someone with 11 wins loses to someone with 7.
No. This is far more ridiculous. 37 chances to build up a lead in the Premier League to avoid being screwed which makes it more likely the best wins. About half that in F1

Well apparently Bernie doesn't plan on helping the teams with their financial issues and basically said they should run it like a proper business.
He didn't say a third car has been considered as there were reports that Red Bull & Ferrari would (they've admitted they are contractually obliged if asked). Imagine if it did happen, how would it work with the points if only a few teams ran three cars - top two cars collect points? Would they give a smaller team a free car for a young driver... Imagine if Mercedes or Red Bull put Alonso in a third car!

Could get messy - would this take valuable constructors championship points from smaller teams? Would this allow big teams to run a "Test" car and get further ahead of everyone else?

Damn 2 years for Alonso apparently. I really really wanted him to be in a Mercedes in 2016. Hamilton and Alonso in Mercedes vs Vettel and Kimi (if he can be arsed) in a Ferrari would have been great. I just can't see Mclaren being competitive.
