The F1 Thread 2013 Season

I don't think that's the problem, the parts will be the same for both cars, but different set ups and driving styles will be the what causes more problems for Webber, maybe he this driving style is just harder on his cars that Vettel.
Webber will have to push the car harder as it's not designed around him, might explain why things are always breaking on his car.

Few of them grabbing the options close to the end here.

It's a bit cynical to blame Webber's retirement on a car built around a teammate. It'd be interesting to see how long the gearbox has been in the car compared to Vettel's. I'd put a good bet on it that it's probably the final race for that gearbox for Mark hence why it's flakey.

Dont think anybody is blaming Vettel for Marks DNF's, it will be the same gearbox just Mark works it harder than Vettel, but the Red Bull is more set up to Vettel's driving than Marks.

Kimi is fecked. Perez takes Kimi and Lewis in one go!

A gearbox set up, or gear ratio set up, makes no difference to a driving style. The fact that the car oversteers more is why the car is suited to Vettel, not because a gearbox 'works harder'.

Yeh, that's it, I'm done with F1 for the forseeable future, just like I was during the Schumacher years. There's nothing compelling about seeing one guy run away with it with no real challenge year after year.

See ya around, folk in this thread!

Very good race I thought .
I'm talking about the championship,

I'm gonna give it a few races next year to see if the new regulations make a change, but if red bull are a second ahead in qualifying again then I'm through, it's just a chore to watch

 Despite there being a changed year next year due to the regulation changes?

Wait till next season before your ditch F1, new engines and rule changes , hopefully will make it better.

Seriously though, Kudos to Grosjean. Another great performance today, 17th to 3rd.

If Lotus have anything of a title challenging car next year, expect to see him right up there.

I hated the Schumacher years and I did stop watching F1 for a long time, but Iam still enjoying watcing F1 even with Vettel winning, there is plenty of action further down the grid and some very good driving.

I know it won't happen but I'd love to see vettel in another car sooner rather than later
I am quite sure that they won't be the team with best car next season. I will put my money on Mercedes or Ferrari. Mercedes seem pretty confident.

But yeah this season can't end soon enough, I'm actually quite excited about the next season.

My money is on Mercedes, there was a reason why Lewis decided to go to them and shock everybody, maybe next season and the new engines was that reason.
Definitely, brawn seemed quite confident. Even this year at a point they were quite close to redbulls before they gave up on developing the car this year.

The key to next year is the design around the powertrain. Mercedes have been working on it for 2 years already, the last time there was some big technical reg changes was 2009 and the same team that won that year was working 2 years prior to the reg changes (Honda/Brawn).

For Red Bull it will depend on how Renault views them, if it's a customer or a works team then they got the info on the powertrain in June/July or about 18-24 months ago.

They should let ricciardo drive a red bull for rest of the season and put vettel in the torro Rosso
